Virgin Australia Velocity - Questions about Virgin Australia changing my itinerary

Six months ago I booked a return flight from Sydney to Queenstown. THe flight is operated by Pacific Blue. I just received an email that both legs have been changed to a day earlier than I originally booked. When I called and tried to change back to the original dates they said they couldn't put me on flights I requested (even though they show up on the website) because they are operated by Air New Zealand.

I must have the original dates due to work constraints. They said the only thing they could do was cancel the booking and give me a credit, but I don't see that as a viable option because flights now are about $400 more than I originally paid.

Is there anyway to get them to put me on the flight operated by Air NZ? Other thoughts on how to proceed?

Thanks

Is the Air NZ flight on the day you want a Virgin code share ?
If it is you should be able to put more pressure on Virgin

Yes, it is a codeshare...on the virgin website it lists a DJ flight number, but has a little Air NZ logo next to it representing who operates the flight. The agent I spoke to on the phone just said that it was impossible to put me on the flight...

Should I call back and ask for a supervisor or handle it another way?

I don't know whether it will be successful, but you could definitely give that a go.

Hi tal32drew,
If you PM us your velocity number and PNR # we can investigate this further.
thanks
