forlorn hope I know, but was wondering if anyone has ever left a cellphone in a cab on the way to Sydney airport? Managed to leave my iphone in a cab this evening, of course I didn't take any notice of what cab company it was or who the driver was etc. didn't realise until about 20 minutes later after check in.
anyone had this experience before and managed to get their phone back? does SYD have a lost property box and do people actually hand things in?
thanks in advance...

Sydney is not Singapore. Forget it.

Forget it.
Ye have little faith, not everyone is dishonest.
As a minimum you should always try calling the phone, maybe the person who answers can help you get it back. Stranger things have happened ...

Do you have the software "where's my iphone"? It can show you where it is at any time using the GPS built into the phone.
I actually lost my cell phone last week (not an iphone though). I had been on a ferry so I went down to fullers in Auckland to see if anyone had found it, and that night, they called to tell me that it had been found on the boat!

Last month I lost my cellphone on a flight to ROT, and someone at WRE rang later on that day to tell me they had my phone.

+1 on this idea. I once left my mobile in a taxi in Dublin - I rang it, the cabbie picked up and very kindly delivered it to my hotel. I'd give it a try.

Once I took a taxi from Sydney Airport to Mascot which is a 10 min ride. The taxi driver kept telling me that he had been queuing for hours and drove like crazy. And he wouldn't stop cursing. In Sydney, just like a lot of places in Asia, money comes first. I have a business on Botany Road and I can tell you people won't stop littering. Sydney is no longer a traditional western city.

Ring Taxi Combined and ask for Lost Property they are open 24 x 7 the chances are good. I worked as a reservations supervisor there 20 years ago and we had lots of lost property handed uncheck their website for current phone numbers also try Premier and legion.
