How many Skypass miles are needed to upgrade from a Value (flexible and upgradeable using skypass miles fare) to a seat in Prestige class on an international flight, JFK>ICN ICN>MNL?

The miles are listed on KE's website.

If it's Prestige (lie flat) then it's 80k from US to Korea.
If it's Prestige non-lie flat, then it's 60k.

The miles listed are roundtrip and u can do one-way for half the price.

I dont know about ICN to MNL though.

Korean Air upgrade awards chart (http://www.koreanair.com/local/na/gd/eng/sp/rm/eng_sp_rm_ka04.jsp)

Manila is classified as a Southeast Asia destination. So, flying JFK-MNL via ICN with no stayover in Korea, off-peak roundtrip upgrades are 75K miles for Prestige and 100K for Prestige Sleeper. Peak season upgrades are a whopping 110K for Prestige and 150K for Prestige Sleeper.

For the aware chart in the website listed. Is that 1 way upgrade or round trip upgrade? I don't see it listed on the page itself.

Additionally, can you mix peak and off peak upgrades?

Thank you.

The mileage amounts are for round-trip (hence the chart's footnote: "One-way upgrade award requires 50% of round-trip mileage redemption."). As for mixing peak/non-peak, my GUESS is that KE would do a mix - i.e., 50% peak rate and 50% non-peak rate.

Hmm.... I must have zoom passed that.

Thanks for the information.

I am booked on a K and L fare... Based on the mileage chart I am able to upgrade... but it would have to be with Korean Airline miles... not DL miles correct?

DL miles can only be used to upgrade full Y fares on KE via the SkyTeam upgrade program.

Correct, Skypass miles, not skymiles

I wonder who buys Full Fare Y and then uses 80K miles on top of the 4K extra the Y fare costs... just insane.

DL requires fewer miles to upgrade from full Y, I believe. It is based off DL's upgrade chart and not KE's.
