what exactly do they do? That site says there is an additional $25 'stamp fee' that has to be paid at the airport.
EDIT: According to the Vietnam Embassy, that site is a fraud site. Check here http://viet.vietnamembassy.us/pdf/warning.pdf

myvietnamevisa.com is legit. We used it and would again. See the linked thread for my experience (and others' experiences) with the website.

Keep in mind only applicable for Y, B, H and K JAL economy fares (and other J and F fares). Those tend to be higher-priced fares (the fare I booked to SGN via NRT on JAL is an N fare).

I used them 2 weeks ago, got the "approval letter" within 2 days by email. Absolutely no problems at SGN Immigration.
Approval Letter or Visa (Full Page) in your passport required to board your flight to Vietnam. If you have 6+ weeks before departure, the embassy is fine, anything less and a visa service is golden.
The stamping fee is the visa itself. Paid in US $$$ upon arrival in Hanoi, Danang or Saigon. EVERYONE pays this either on arrival or in advance through the embassy. Fairly common charge, same as Cambodia ($25), Laos ($35), Indonesia ($25), Myanmar ($35), ALOT cheaper than China, Thailand (FREE), Malaysia (FREE).
Read the warning, they do not say that myvietnamvisa itself is fraudulent, only that that they are using the name of the embassy and/or email address with permission. Which frankly confuses me as I never had any impression or misunderstanding that they were in any way affiliated with the embassy.
My guess is that VN embassy is feeling left out and wants a cut which is why the "warning" may have popped up. For those familiar with SE Asia will smile at this. Maybe someone did not load up the right palm and a little muscle is being applied. :)

Given the international nature of Flyertalk, it's perhaps worth pointing out that entry requirements depend on the passport one is travelling on and the nature and length of the visit.

Thanks for that link - it seems they do deliver on their promise of VoA. However, the reports of certain personal information being given to others who apply make be uncomfortable to use their service myself.

I understand what you're saying. Though it is interesting they say "strongly" recommend not using their service. I guess that would hurt mvv.com at the expense of the Embassy... however, I don't notice any such warning on the Houston consulate's website :D

I used them earlier this year without problem. It's really just to save having to send in your passport for the visa.
Tip: There's likely a few people on your plane that have the same VOA so walk fast, as you get down the escaltor look to the left and you'll see the visa area. If I remember correctly, you pay the fee at the front and then go around to the back to get your visa. Have everything ready and it'll be no problem.
I'd suggest looking at trip advisor for more recent information.
Oh, yes you'll be included in a published list of people that also will be arriving in the same time frame. So if you are uncomfortable knowing other people you are traveling and your age, just send your passport in and get the visa. Mine came on a list with about 15 other people.

No, you need a Vietnam visa. There is a difference.

All those countries you mention the cost is the whole visa. Period. For Vietnam, if you use VoA, you're paying for the service first and the stamp second. There is a big difference.
And, as someone has since pointed out, the prices can be dependent upon which passport you carry.

I recall someone forwarding email with many, many names CCed from the service. So if you like your privacy .....

For those who wants to do this MR/minivacation :
I just did this run from CMH last weekend (fri-mon) for about $920 ,got about 19.5 k miles with my routing ,but I believe you can get more than 21 k miles with different routings .
I used myvietnamvisa.com with no problems ,paid $20 for visa on arrival ,got an email approval in 2 days ,you need to print out the approval list where you will see your name on that list (with others ) to get a BP .
Once you arrive at SGN you will see a line for the visa on arrival people (to the left of passport control ),they take your passport and the printed out letter you got by email ,they give you a brief form to fill out ,they call your name once they stamp your passport with visa ,you pay $25 and your done ,the line was long when I got there ,it took about 45 min start to finish .
Now according to aa.com you get 50% EQM on JAL codeshare flights for the discounted economy fares (N class for me ,which I didn't know when I booked ) ,but for some reason when I got my boarding pass at NRT it showed a Y fare class and got 100% EQM on both legs .

Now THAT is interesting. Can anyone shed any light?
Fluke?
Unpublished change in policy?
Just to be clear, you're saying you booked N but your boarding pass changed to "Y" and you have no idea, no theory, no clue why?

OH, are you talking about JL flights booked as AA code? In that case it would not really matter what you booked, because AA code would get you 100% EQM. I remember when I flew JL flights booked as AA code (N), the JL BPs say it was booked in Y

Well ,if you check aa.com under airlines partners and EQM rules under JAL there is no note at the end that says it should like other partners (CX, RJ etc).
It was brought to my attention by fellow flyer talkers,so thats what happened and kind of confusing

This has been happening on IB codeshare flights as well when people purchase the flights with AA flight numbers. I agree with Mr. Bean, I believe that any flight with an AA flight number earns 100% EQM.

To be clear, it is the Vietnamese government that produces the letter of approval with the list of people, not myvietnamvisa.
The letter listed full name, date of birth, nationality, and passport number. For my entry there were 21 people listed.
The process seemed less invasive to me than sending my passport itself, payment, etc. to the consulate.
