Korean Air Skypass - KE vs Qantas vs Cathay?
Does anyone have experience or info to compare these carriers against each other in terms of seats, food, service?
I'm considering both A380's for Korean and Qantas but luv Cathays F class on the 747. Thx

I've never flown a KE or QF 380 before so I can't say about that.
Being a long-time CX flyer (but having lived in both Korea and Australia so flown both their flag carriers) I'm a little biased towards CX but imo they are the best of the 3 in most departments: IFE, service (both ground and air), food and seats. With that being said, food on KE is comparable to CX (service lags) and I always found QF to be quite efficient and have great lounges.

I'd say CX or QF, then KE. KE's inflight entertainment selection (movies, TV) is pretty poor, even on the A-380s.

I will readily concede that CX first class is wonderful but am puzzled has to how KE's IFE selection (http://beyond.koreanair.com/) could be regarded as "pretty poor." I've found that my KE transpacific flights are a convenient way to catch up on recent films.

I've taken CX and KE. I found that KE's IFE had more recent movies than CX (even movies that came out months ago in theaters). CX had more TV shows.

I know that IFE preferences can vary from person to person, month to month, etc. SQ and EK, with the multitude of choices, are in a separate league, so I won't compare to them. But amongst CX, QF, NZ, KE, OZ, NH, TG, I find that the Western carriers of this group (+ CX) carry some reasonable shows (HBO or BBC quality), while the Asian carriers go for really mass market/broadcast TV shows (or worse, shows that maybe didn't ever make it broadcast!). Heck, even UA has a better selection than some of these. I love flying NH, except that the IFE doesn't appeal to me, so I use them eastbound, but not westbound.

Surprisingly, the quality of the KE headphones in C class is low -- not noise cancelling and the same cheap headphones UA and some other carriers use in Y. Would have thought some Korean electronics company would supply a good quality product.

I guess Qantas is not an option anymore, at least until the strike is over.

I had the same question about possibly fliying KE instead of CX in F. Only flew cx and never flew KE. It has seemed from ke website that their F product on the a380 looked prety amazing and much newer and private than cx F seat. Is this not the case?

Trying new KE F is on my to-do list for sure despite having developed an allegiance to OZ from my time living in Seoul. I actually like the more open design of CX F seats over the closed suite style on KE. I rarely fly F other than occasionally on UA so it actually doesn't really matter to me which is better. I'd assume that even if KE has poor IFE selection as a previous poster said, at least the screen quality would be good. (They are Korean Air, after all)
