Dear AlicorporateUK,

we want to offer you a very special opportunity to fly with us again: choose your next trip on alitalia.com and take advantage of a 25% reduction!

Don't miss this promotion! You have until 8 November to register and receive your e-Coupon discount.

To be totally honest, I was quite surprised. 25% off is a quite significant reduction, which I may use to book a transatlantic flight in Magnifica.

A couple of people at ac.com received it but I'm not sure what the criteria for getting it are, maybe if they see in your status that you haven't flown AZ for a while...

I haven't flown AZ at all so far this year, mainly because their fares on the MAN-CDG-FCO route (which I normally fly twice a month) have gone up considerably compared to the last couple of years, hence my decision to switch to AF/KL. Back to the above offer, I was looking at a FCO-JFK (in J) for next March which would cost me around £ 1350 should I decide to book using the coupon

Excellent value!

Make sure you book on an A330, some FCO-JFK services are on 777 and I wouldn't bet on them being all reconfigured by march.

I received the coupon after 3 days as promised, however I'm still unsure of what to do with it :D Any tips, guys? It will have to be somewhere ex FCO (I'm quite often down in Abruzzo at my holiday home so I've got no problems in leaving from Rome). I'm just about to gain status with AF-KL, but my plan is to switch back to AZ next year (taxes on award tickets amongst the main reasons), hence perhaps a transatlantic flight in J will help me re-gaining status on Alitalia. P.S.: how many qualifying miles would a FCO-JFK return in Magnifica get me?

FCO-JFK and back earns you 25680 miles.

However I rest of the opinion that the best deal for qualifying miles (although it takes three days) is CDG-FCO-KUL-SYD-KUL-FCO-CDG which earns you 66816 miles for about €2080,26 with your discount (~3.1 cents per mile).

If you want to stick to something smaller then one of the transatlantics is still quite good.

Okay, I booked a flight using the e-coupon on October 28th. However, I received an email from Alitalia today saying -

Dear Gus,

discover our special offers on alitalia.com and remember that, if you have not used your e-Coupon yet, you can still do it and get a further 25% discount.

As I say, I used the coupon a couple of weeks ago hence I was just about to cancel the email (which, by the way, reminded me of the actual code) when I thought to give it another try. Well, believe me or not, it is still working! :D ^ I'm clearly tempted to book another flight but in the same time I'm slightly concerned that they'll find out, sooner or later, and adjust the price accordingly?

Well, how would they "adjust" it, exactly? :) if you bought it in a travel agency, they could send an ADM to the TA for violating a rule, but... how would they charge you once they issue the ticket?

Perhaps I'm only being over cautious...

No need to worry. Once there was a site bug that allowed you to book certain flights for 5 euros or less, but the tickets were still usable, apart from a few towards the end that were immediately rejected without accepting payment.

Smashing, thank you. I shall proceed accordingly, then :D
