Choice Privileges - The "Fox News in the Breakfast Room" problem

I wonder how people handle Fox News in the Breakfast Room. The continual lying of talking heads on this network makes me too physically ill to eat. Sometimes I just switch it without asking others (I think The Today Show is always safe, or The Weather Channel), sometimes I ask if I can switch it, but I have to be know in advance which channels to go to else it irritates people to surf around.

If there are a lot of people eating, or if someone objects, I take my food back to the room. Once the front desk clerk immediately came into the breakfast room to change it back to Fox News-- I have never stayed at that hotel again.

I can't be the only one with this problem, are there other solutions? I would prefer that the hotel block this and other news channels that many find objectionable from the breakfast room, but I don't think that there are any that do.

Same problem in my orthopedic Dr's Office. Always Fox. Last visit this past spring I had to hear Glen Beck spewing all his hate. Unfortunately I've not had the balls to tell my Dr. what I think of his TV choice.

Bottom line, I dont expect them to put on MSNBC but to not offend anyone put on CNN, that should offend no one.

It can be worse. I remember a breakfast room at a Comfort Inn somewhere in Wisconsin where the television was tuned to an infomercial for Critter Gitters. The other people in the breakfast room were enraptured by the show. I took my coffee and cereal back to my room.

For the most part people staying at a hotel are traveling, so I would say go with the Weather Channel as I think more folks would be interested.

For me next would be either CNN or Today. ANYTHING except Fox News:td:

Where's the love?

Where's the tolerance?

Where is the ability to view a different viewpoint?

I went into a restaurant one time and they had football, yes the kind you play with a goalie and no helmet, forcing everyone to watch it!

Thay called it the World Cup or some other type nonsense
