Travel with Pets - can i use AAdvantage miles to fly my pet?

we are flying from CA to Mexico for 6 weeks, instead of paying 175 in cash, can i use miles? any advice? thanks

Looks like the fee is payable by check, cash, credit card or voucher.

You cannot use miles to pay the fee through American.

I asked the EXP agent and she said no. Gotta pay the $$$
