Texas - Did the Blue Angels temporarily shut down DFW??

My morning flight today had a slight delay because it was late getting in from DFW the night before. The captain mentioned it was due to the Blue Angels practicing nearby to DFW. An FA said she heard DFW was closed for 2 hrs, but that seems unreal. Anyone know the facts?

Since this topic isn't specific to AA, we'll move this over to the South forum for further discussion. Thanks! :) /JY1024, AA forum co-moderator

The Blue Angels aren't in the DFW area. The USAF Thunderbirds are. Whether or not they closed DFW is not known.

There is an air show at Alliance Air Port ( a few miles north west of DFW) this weekend. http://www.allianceairshow.com/

The World Series moves to Arlington starting tomorrow. I wouldn't be shocked to see a fly-by.

Good point. Offtopic: I was at Game 1 of the 2010 World Series and the fly-by was four F-18s. That was awesome!
