Hilton HHonors - Gifting points

I have a good friend who late in life is finally taking the walk down the aisle. His life has been simple, and I would like to send him and his new bride off in style. I want to gift him 100,000 HH points into an account I will open. My question, is that since he has NO STATUS, can I also book his reward under my Diamond status? I'm afraid he will be unable to get past the blackout dates.
Other friends are feeding his minimal CO account, and we want them to either enjoy Hawaii or St Lucia.

I don't think you can deposit points directly into another account. All you need to do is redeem a certificate in your friends name for them to use. If you are Diamond then call the Diamond Desk and book the room for them. It shouldn't be a problem.

Just one question here. Can I be your friend too?!?

Just like MoreMilesPlease says, I was able to book an ALON award using my points for a friend's honeymoon using my Hhonors Dimaond status, even though the hotel had already exceeded award capacity.

Be a really good friend, and sign him up for the CNTU promo, so he'll be Gold when he will check into the Jalousie Hilton in St. Lucia using your gift award (actually, it will cost you 150K, not 100, if he and his bride would choose that particular property)... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
