I have stayed at the Embassy on PGA Boulevard and it was quite nice. The water pond in the atrium has live swans swimming around in it (maybe they were geese, I'm not a bird expert). As a gold I got a room upgrade one time (corner room up high) and every time I got a gift pack (bottled water, snacks) in the room and a signed welcome note from the manager. Breakfast and happy hour were typical of Embassy style (good) and there is a small sports bar attached to the complex that is OK if you are looking for casual. Not too much dining within close walking distance, but then I don't know the area that well. Have not stayed at the Double Tree. Have fun! Stan

I have stayed at the Dtree several times, and it's ok. Breakfast is a continental buffet in the dining room; the staff have always been pleasant enough. No lounge of course, nothing to upgrade to, either.

There's also a Hampton Inn just on the other side of I-95 that usually has lower rates than the DTree.

I stayed at the Doubletree as a Gold and didn't get much of anything. My room was very nice, but I don't think they have any upgrades available for Golds. Actually they wouldn't honor the increased check cashing limit for Golds.

The hotel is nice though and the staff has always been very pleasant. Even when telling me that they couldn't cash a check for more than $50 they did it very professionally and with a smile.

On a side note - that was the only time I ever tried to use the check cashing priviledge, is that common? I was having problems with my ATM card, so a check was the only way to get cash. I was forced to write a check for $50 every morning instead of the increased limit.

ES is better. DT is usually cheaper. Given that, it's a wash.
