Hello fellow flyers. I booked a business class ticket with Oman Air and I would appreciate your feedback. Basically, Oman Air's reservations has confirmed that it is not selling F on the CMB - MCT leg, and when I inquire why the seat map starts at row 10, agents seem confused and keep telling me that's the first row of business class, but can't find an answer when I raise the issue that all Oman Air A330-300s are equipped with 3 classes. Has anyone been in a similar position? Specifically, my question is, are rows 1 and 2 only available on the day of departure once they are under airport control? Thanks in advance.

recently flew to and from Bangkok on a a330-300 with 3 class config,
the first class was not used except for crew rest, curtains closed and told to use toliets at rear of business cabin.
TBH the Oman air first seats are not much different to the business class seats and I found them to offer the best business class seat and service i have flown for a long time

But I think the key difference is that Oman Air does sell first class on flights to BKK, whereas there is no option to purchase first class from/to CMB so in your case it would make sense that the crew would close the first class cabin since Oman Air probably has a strict protocol on that to protect future yields.

Just for interest-sometimes EK substitute their A330 3 class for their 777/300ER 2 class BHX/DXB/BHX ( F not sold from BHX) and J customers can use the cabin by changing seats before (or after check-in). Same J class service but with the much better seating.
Surprised Oman Air do not do the same.
I wouldn't particularly stress - Oman Air J is about as good as you can get in J anywhere, essentially the same as F Suites on the best of the best, missing only the doors.
For those counting such things, pajamas and bed made in linen by cabin crew are standard; like I said, it's as good as, for example, an EY First, only missing the doors.
In compensation for the lack of doors, I must say that most WY flights these days seem kind of empty. So you might not get doors, but as compensation there are chances you'll get a cabin with no-one else in sight.
Oh, and if you want to work, there's inflight internet.
Enjoy the flight - one of the best in the skies at the moment!
(btw, I have done CMB-MCT and vice-versa a number of times. If internet is your thing (and it is mine), the reception can drop out over the middle of the ocean. That said, the connection can be more amenable than the one you will get on the ground once you reach MCT!)
