If you book a room 21 days in advance (special rate at hilton.com) and you change your plan and don't spend the night at the hotel, Hilton will anyway take the money from your credit card. Do you receive the points and miles for that night ???

Thanks

Yes.

I frankly don't know if it matters when you booked the room. The important thing is, you didn't show up, and thus they charged you for the night.

This happened to my husband recently. Because of a sudden change in plans on a business trip, he found out too late to cancel his reservation. The hotel did charge him for one night, and he did receive both points and miles for that stay.

Slightly different situation but similar end result recently at a Hampton Inn.

I recently made a reservation for my parents to spend the night at a HI near their hometown. I made the reservation online in my name and under my HH # as I had done previously at the same HI with no problem. Well, this past Tuesday morning my father calls to let me know that at check-in the night before, the desk clerk wouldn't allow him to check in without authorization from me. Also told him I'd be charged for the no show. A quick phone call to me that night would have put the issue to bed, but I guess neither party was thinking too clearly. Of course, I never thought to place a note in the comments section on HI reservation website to advise the hotel that a person different from the name on the reservation would be checking in. My parents drove home disappointed and my CC was charged for the room. I called HH to ask about the charge and was advised to send them the receipt once I received it and they'll post the stay credit and points to my account. If this wasn't my last stay under the conquest promo I might call HI and ask about their 100% room guarantee instead.

So I guess it is possible to receive the points for a no show. But they probably won't just show up in your account without some effort on your part.

Good Luck

Slightly off the topic, but I recently made a reservation for my husband at the LAX HGI as he was seriously delayed in arriving from Asia and I didn't want him driving two hours. Anyway, he was even more delayed and by the time he got in at 4 had perked up and decided to drive home. When I called the hotel to discuss the no-show charge, they advised me there would be no charge as a "gold" benefit even though I had called them at 11 the night before to make sure they were holding the room. We didn't need the points or stay credit, so I really appreciated this courtesy. As we all know, this is a really great property overall.
