WestJet Rewards - West Jet First Timer
Hi,
I am taking my first West Jet flights in November, I booked a YYZ-YUL-YYZ same day return for $200 (Thought it was a good deal) and look forward to flying them for first time.
I didnt pay for seat selection, but I am guessing it will be fine if I do 24hour check-in right?
At the same time I imagine for such a short run, that there is no inflight service right?
Also what is the minimum time I need to arrive at YYZ and YUL before each domestic flight?
Thanks for any info or tips you may have.

You should be fine at T-24, unless the flight is pretty full and most people have selected seats.

Discussion on WS's inflight service for YYZ-YUL (and vv) can be found in this thread.

As I haven't flown WS from YYZ, I can't speak to how early to be there. I'm not sure if CATSA is still doing work to rule or not at security screening checkpoints or not. I guess it depends on if you have bags or not. Either way I'd say to be there at least 1 hour before your flight.

You will be offered your choice of complimentary coffee, water, and one beer or wine (alcohol served only between 10 am and 2 am), as well as tea (on request). Enjoy your flight and thanks for choosing Westjet! :)
Thanks for the information! I am doing a same day return, so no luggage. I will probably arrive around 75mins before departure time.
I think work to rule was for T1, but WestJet fly from T3 so should be ok!

CAWU CATSA Garda security job action was at both T1 and T3, although T1 had longer lines so thats where the media was located.
Complete OLCI for both flights the day before and the OP should be fine for time if they plan on arriving at the airports atleast 45 minutes before departure.
OLCI the day before should be good enough to get good seat. One issue perculiar to the YYZ-YUL flight is the tendency for WS to schedule through flights on the YYZ-YUL route, your flight might originate in Western Canada, if this is the case the OLCI at exactly t-24 hours is very important.

Thanks for the tip, I will be sure to do it on the dot.

$200 r/t is a very good deal. WS is okay, I would say better than the average LCC especially with the "enhanced" service on triangle routes.

Sign up for Tripit.com or a similar travel tracking program, it'll remind you at T-24 to check in.
On 8 WJ flights in the last 2 weeks at T-24, I've managed an exit row seat each flight.

In my limited flying with WS, I've always got exit rows as well. The last time I was on one I actually enjoyed WS humour for once. One of the FAs had an "unconventional" safety demo which he did twice in English and French. Everyone in the back half of the plane was laughing, and even my then-rigid face managed a smile and a little laugh. ^ Should have got his name to write a letter about him.
