Italy - 3 hours in FCOView Full Version : 3 hours in FCO Houminer Oct 17, 11, 6:48 am I need to spend 3 hours in FCO on a morning. The airport site is not vey helpful. Anyone know of a cheap place to rest in for 3 hours? thanks zoe67 Oct 18, 11, 11:35 am I don't think you need a hotel - if that's what you mean by "cheap place to rest". With only 3 hours, you would risk missing your flight. Stick it out and sleep on the plane. Houminer Oct 18, 11, 3:11 pm let me explain myself.. my wife is arriving three hours after me and since I will be up from 2 am I would like to rest a little. we are not taking another flight. Jinxy Oct 22, 11, 11:18 pm Are you arriving from an international flight? Rome is shocking for baggage delays so I would prob think you would have 2 hours at best. There are business class lounges if you have affiliation with some airlines. There is also the Hilton within the airport but day rates are very expensive. Houminer Oct 22, 11, 11:31 pm Arriving international but no luggage.... The hilton want 85 euro... any oher suggestions? Jinxy Oct 23, 11, 1:13 am As I was just in FCO on two separate international flights, both with having to wait for 4-6 hours both times...your choices are limited for that amount of time There are various nice cafes to sit at with comfortable lounge type chairs (but you will need to purchase food and drink to keep sitting there for a long period of time) Many shops to look at Sit in the normal hard seats inside or outside Business Lounges if you have any status with a particular airline The Hilton Rome Airport (of which you said is too expensive) There are no other options for a 2-3 hour window...and you will find it will go really quick once you have collected your luggage, got a coffee...some fresh air etc. Which airline are you flying? How long is your flight? Houminer Oct 23, 11, 3:22 am I'm arriving on AZ from TLV (about 4 hours of flight). Jinxy Oct 23, 11, 3:35 am 4 hours isn't a long time.... My flights were almost 24 hours before I got to Rome! I would suggest a sleep before you get on the plane to adjust your body clock and then relax in a cafe on arrival, no need to pay for a hotel after such a short flight. |
