Want to rent on a Wednesday morning, returning Sat late afternoon. My options are to rent at Sky Harbor, but using points, it shows having to pay taxes on the car per day, even though the PC will zap the rate. The taxes and facility fees add up to $80. When you return, are the taxes zapped or charged on the rental? My second option is to rent at a HLE, but the after hours return may add two extras hours, adding up to $66, still need a cab ride to PHX ($20) or light rail. Light rail takes about an hour. Third option is to rent at the HLE for three days with the points, return and re rent for a one way which uses 600 points more than the four day rental. I was thinking about the third option as I'm not traveling out of the rental city. Fourth option is to rent with points on three separate times (cause I save 100 points instead of using 1900 points for a three day rental), and the last day, return and re rent with 1200 points (since the HLE is open on Sat morning) to the airport. Like I said, will be local and will have time on my hands. I'm looking for the least amount of money shelling out for free rental(s). Was that clear as mud?
