Any recent experiences flying MAD-JNB in Business Class? I will be taking this on an award flight next summer but couldn't find any recent trip reports.

I know you are booked already, but an alternative may have been to take BA to JNB.

There are not many linked trip reports to Iberia on here unfortunately, perhaps with time there will be more and we can start sorting the forum out (hopefully over the Xmas period)

OK so not The best start....we should have departed an hour ago, still not boarding and the display board says "indefinite delay".....ground staff useless (not Iberia staff but rather the outsourced BidAir who handle Iberia's ground services in JNB)

Eventually the 22:05 departure took to the air at 00:30, but as mentioned this was not Iberia's fault. Boarding well handled, staff not quite as rude as usual for Iberia.
Crew worked fast to get the meal service out as soon as possible. Meal was decent, with a soup, salad and shrimp for starters, choice of mains (beef fillet, fish, vegetarian etc), cheese course and a choice of desserts. All accompanied by some good Spanish wines.
IFE is archaic and terrible....still showing programs like Hill Street Blues, and even the first episode of NCIS! Fortunately it was so late I was not interested in watching anything.
Amenity kit, average, all the usual included, but nothing to get excited about.
The seats were comfortable, slight slant, but minimal. As others have said, they felt spacious and during the night it was easy to turn over! The other thing I like was it was relatively easy to get out (I was at a window seat) even if the person next to me was lying flat.
Breakfast was good with a fresh fruit salad, omlette, yoghurts, fresh rolls etc.
Staff evident throughout the flight, helpful and even a couple of smiles!
All in all it was a decent flight, better than I was expecting. Nothing to rave about, but nothing to complain about (except IFE).
Considering my last couple of flights on BA in club, I would actually put Iberia on par YMMV.
Lounge in Madrid very nice - only real gripe there is no free wifi!

IB apparently is discontinuing this route, with the last flight on 29 April 2012.
