View Full Version : What to do with NK(Spirit) Miles?

I just realized I have 5,000 Spirit miles. I've never flown Spirit but put them in the same category as Southwest. From the looks of things, it seems as though you have to apply for their credit card to get 5,000 off peak award travel. Pity on anyone that owns this card by the way.

Is there a way to donate these miles with NK? I couldn't find an option. I think the only tempting thing for me to fly them is out of desperation for wanting to go back to Miami knowing things will be better once I step off the plane :D.

Disclaimer: Sorry if I hurt anyone's feelings that love Spirit but I have no Spirit for them! And I simply tell it how it is, no being all political, that is non-sense.

I highlighted what you didn't read. Also, http://spirit.custhelp.com has nothing on that landing page regarding donating miles and when you query "donate" nothing returns.

The only thing that actually returns upon page refresh is them bombarding me with a huge ad made in Microsoft Paint asking me to sign up for their Credit Card.

Now, here's to hoping someone with valuable information can reply.

Cheers,

I have no useful information to add other than to say Amen! Spirit does suck and I'm not sure if donating their miles is charity or a punishment. But good luck getting rid of them. They have such atrocious service.

I live close to DCA and go to FLL a lot but still have reservations about Spirit card.

I think you can print them out and wipe your Tukkis with them!

Great Point Tasso! Definitely a good way to use it even for Spirit miles.

... Spirit Airlines is not participating in that program.

I have the same 5000 free miles, about to expire.. and AFAIK, there is nothing you can do with them. Can't even trade them for peanuts on points.com.

Hmmm perhaps that might work and sounds like the best way to make use of them :D!

I think you can print them out and wipe your Tukkis with them!

Did you read the blog post:confused::confused::confused:

I just found out their miles expire after only 3 months of inactivity!!!! I had a NK credit card until a couple months ago just for the $9 club and used it just once a month on something small like a coffee (I got Juniper to waive the fee but I only got 1/2 mile per $ charged) but didn't switch to the new card. Not sure if I should just let them expire or a book a dtw/LGA trip.

I agree NK does suck. Back when they had business class, I loved them. The terminal they were in at DTW was easy to get through with TSA, the fare in business class on dtw/lga wasn't that much more than a coach fare on NW and they used to have a convenient 8:30 PM flight on Friday and it was a cheap weekend trip or a cheap business trip and I could easilly justify expensing business class on NK. When they started to get cheap and eliminated business class is when they went downhill. It's too bad because they had a great busienss class product for that short of a flight, newer planes and they were pretty punctual and had a great staff.

Southwest is starting to decline now as well.

Good comparason of NK and Southwest. Southwest is starting to go downhill fast as well. I used to love NK and they went downhill FAST. WN is headed in the same direction.
