SCS has been decided for IBT represented RAH F/A's and AFA represented Lynx F/A's. However the NMB included AFA represented Frontier F/A's in their ruling. The full NMB ruling has not yet been posted but below is AFA's memo to Frontier F/A's. IBT and RAH have not commented as of yet.
National Mediation Board Rules Single Carrier with Republic
We Disagree with Unexpected Ruling Reviewing Legal Options
Yesterday,October 12,the National Mediation Board (NMB) issued a decision finding that Frontier is now part of a single transportation system with Chautauqua, Shuttle America, and Republic Airlines for the Flight Attendant craft or class. This decision was triggered by an application filed by the Teamsters seeking to have the NMB certify that the former Lynx Flight Attendants, whose company no longer exists, are covered by the Teamsters certification at Republic Airlines the filing did not include Frontier, nor in any way requested inclusion of our airline for union representation.
The NMB conducted an investigation and ruled that Republic Airways Holding (RAH) exercises sufficient control over its subsidiaries,Chautauqua,Shuttle
America,Republic Airlines and Frontier to form a single transportation system for
representation purposes. This ruling means that the NMB has called for an election between AFA and Teamsters to determine who will represent the entire Flight Attendant group.
AFA and the Teamsters had both filed statements opposed to a finding that Frontier should be included in the single transportation system with the Republic carriers. In fact, AFA had successfully kept Frontier out of the original single carrier finding in 2010. Unfortunately,by filing its petition to clarify the status of the former Lynx Flight Attendants, the Teamsters allowed the NMB to re-visit this issue.
We do not agree with this ruling and our Legal Department is currently reviewing our options. There will be a great deal of speculation in social media and on the jumpseat. We encourage you not to engage in speculation while we review all of the facts of the case. We will provide frequent, reliable information through AFA communications. Please stay tuned and help us spread fact, not rumor. Thank you all for your attention and dedication to looking out for each other.
In Solidarity,
