Hilton HHonors - JFK Hampton InnView Full Version : JFK Hampton Inn inlandrev Jul 3, 02, 2:37 pm Anyone stay here, how is it, is it near transit to NYC?? Globehopper Jul 5, 02, 8:57 am The hotel is far from the subway, and it is located on the north side of the Belt Parkway, near the Van Wyck Expressway. Your best bet is to use the hotel's shuttlebus to return back to the airport to transfer to other forms of transport, or ask the hotel shuttlebus driver to deposit you at Conduit Avenue Station on the Rockaway Line (served by the A train; this is one station north of the Howard Beach-JFK Station). Another possibility would be to take the Q-40 bus (operated by Green Bus Lines) on 135 Avenue (near the hotel) to downtown Jamaica, then transfer to the subway (if you're headed into Manhattan). Seems this "international" airport has the worst hotels in the world. I have never thought much about JFK, and try to avoid it as much as possible. Fortunately BA changed the departure of the Concorde this month, so I was spared having to stay out at any JFK property of any chain. inlandrev Jul 8, 02, 11:13 am Well I stayed there, and it was fine to me. Free bottled water, cookies in the room, top level room on the 12th floor, plus free breakfast at the HolidayInn next door for HH GOLD. About 30 second check in, fast check out, so I was happy. I rented a car, so it was $3 a day for parking, to me cheap. Compared to other Hampton Inns, its nice, but not a four star hotel. Gaucho100K Aug 1, 02, 9:58 pm Im getting quotes for $115 a night for this hotel... is that about right? Hampton Inns do qualify for the 50K promo, right...? Thanks very much. |
