Nice cheap fares in Northern Chile, and a very handy Calama-Iquique flight - see www.palair.cl. Wikipedia tells me it is a much delayed successor to Principal Airlines, has run charters for some years and started scheduled in 2009. Average fleet age 20.7 years. Am I taking my life in my hands?

Had similar questions on the larger Sky airline but the consensus seems to be that it is very good, albeit with an even older fleet.

PAL is fine. It is just a lot smaller. So delays can have a knock on effect.

I've never flown it, but I would. I haven't heard anything pro or con about it from Chileans or the media here in over two years living here.
