Korean Air Skypass - Does KE ever have sales?

View Full Version : Does KE ever have sales?

I usually fly BA to/from LHR and I am often aware of sales. I get advance notice because of my BAEC FF membership.

Circumstances now allow me to fly in the ME-SE Asia-Oceana region. Does KE have sales in these regions?

IF sales occur, how can I find out about them (besides doing a daily booking search on KE)? :D

Thanks in advnce.

Why don't you try signing up for their frequent flyer program?

I am a member with another Skyteam member - two actually. I just hoped for an answer - not another question posited as "a hypothetical answer". Thanks anyways

you don't have to be so cynical. his answer wasn't hypothetical one as well.

you sign up for frequent flyer program from KE, and you agree to receive promotional emails from KE when you sign up. you get "in"frequent notice on possible sales.

finally, it doesn't matter how many skyteam frequent flyer membership you have. they don't charge you for them anyway :rolleyes:

Thank you for this explanation. :o As for signing up for any plan, I just don't need more plastic - hence my comment about being with 2 ST members already. If I decide to fly KE, obviously I'll get the 3rd piece of plastic...

Depends on where you are.. but usually the local travel agent would have the best fares over what the airline websites can give you !

try the KE travel agents where they have flights, like lax , chi, nyc, and atl.

Thanks for this reminder GB. It seems that this is exactly what my Korean friends do (I just checked) when they fly with KE back to ICN. They also don't seem to wait for any "specials" due to their Skypass membership - they just book (in Korean) with their travel agent.

I am also looking for "good value" premium class fares. But none of the fares I came across are "good value".

I know that they used to have great fare ex CMB and so on, but these are all gone long time ago...

I do have a KE membership, but I haven't received any emails about promo fares in J or F so far.

Anyone with a hint???

Thanks

Sf

beware of the fare class. some consolidated fares earn reduced or no miles.

Read : Travel Agent.

KE fares ex-CMB still exist. Just not published, and not through their website (which is quite useless).

In the 18 months since we have been signed up to their website and mileage scheme we haven't even received 1 sale alert during that time :( however for the flights we want to use them for LHR - AKL they are consistently cheaper than other airlines.

I joined the KE FFP just to see what will happen.
No plastic until I make my first flights :D
No notice of any sale. I wonder if KE is targeting certain locations (ie the USA)? If so, then there is no "blanket answer" to my original question

I've been a Skypass Morning Calm for 3 or 4 years now and can't recall receiving email notice of any sales that weren't also posted on the Korean Air website. The best deals I have received have been through travel agents.
