Anyone have any particular spots on Arthur Ave (i.e. the "real" Little Italy) to recommend? I like Roberto's a lot (they also have a Manhattan location I believe). Any other recommendations?

Roberto's doesn't have a Manhattan location it's the Pizza place owned by Roberto's Zero Otto Nove that has a location by the Flatiron Building. Cheers Howie Blumie Oct 17, 11, 12:21 pm I've been to the Arthur Avenue location of Zero Otto Nove a couple of times. It's been good, but it hasn't blown me away either time. BTW, this may have nothing to do with what and why you are asking (it's not Italian and it's not on Arthur Avenue or even in the Bronx), but my current favorite outerboro adventure is Red Hook, and in particular dinner at The Good Fork. wreck Oct 25, 11, 3:09 pm I know it's not on Aurthur ave but it is very close 2 miles away maybe 10 minutes , simply great Italian food with real atmosphere. Dominicks is an experience , but for food nothing matches Robertos.! maspablo Oct 25, 11, 10:28 pm a more casual , spot . is Cafe Mercato in the back of the Arthur ave mkt. great Pizza ( eggplant) and other stuff . Full moon Pizza on 187/arthur is good too . actuallly you cant go wrong with most of the delis in the area for a hero , etc. tonypct Nov 1, 11, 9:46 am Have never eaten at Dominicks. But I have eaten at Robertos and the food was outstanding. I have also eaten at Emelia's. Not sure if it's still there, but I enjoyed that restaurant also. And to expand upon what maspablo said, if you go, make sure you go to any deli and pick up some fresh cheeses and cold cuts. IMHO, they are as close to the cheeses and coldcuts I had when I was on the Amalfi Coast. |
