Virgin Australia Velocity - Newbie question: using points to book a ticket for family member

Hi. This is probably a basic question, but I couldn't find the answer after a few minutes of looking. :) Is it possible to use my points to book a ticket for someone else (a family member)? I won't be travelling on the flight.
