Hi I am staying at the Hyatt Regency CDG for a few days next week and was wondering the best way to commute to and from the city? I know I should probably take the train. Which train do I take and what are the hours? Because I will probably be there in the morning and come back as late in the evening as possible. Thanks!

There has been a lot of information posted here which would answer your question. I suggest that you do a search, and also Google "Paris by train".

I stayed in Paris for two weeks last year and did a fair amount of research ahead of time about public transit. For a quick primer on info, try Rick Steves' Paris guide (available at your library and/or local bookstore). He gives you the quick lowdown on transit options, costs, how to buy tix, things to consider, etc. (Difference between the Metro and the RER, etc.)

One option from CDG to downtown is: RER B (the RER, line B)
Labor strikes can happen, check ahead. Have small bills (in Euros) with you to buy tickets at the ticket kiosks.

Here the Paris Info page (in English) on public transit: Paris Info (http://en.parisinfo.com/paris-map/getting-around/public-transport/guide/public-transport_fares-travel-passes-and-reductions)

Here's the RATP site page (in English) on transit options from CDG: RATP site (http://www.ratp.fr/en/ratp/c_22215/charles-de-gaulle-airport/)

I flew in for a very short one night stay in Paris on a Sunday, this last summer. Probably wouldn't happen during the week, but I caught the RER B, had a fairly long wait at CDG, and there was a service issue on the line, so all passengers had to exit at Gare du Nord. Since I had advance info on how the Metro works, I was able to exit the RER system, transfer smoothly to the Metro system and was on my way to my hotel.

So, even the best laid plans can have hiccups. (I wouldn't leave transit back to the airport until the "last minute" and I'd have a back-up plan. It all ultimately "works," but sometimes not quite like you planned.)

Enjoy, and have a great trip !!

There is line maintenance for the next two weekends on RER B which means no express CDG services.

The alternatives are really Roissybus and RER B.

Hi,
If you stay at the Hyatt Regency CDG you have plenty of transport options...
1/ Train --> Station is located near terminal 2 or 3 - About 10 Euros one way. It will get you to Gare du Nord train station or Chatelet (Very central).
2/ Taxi --> Take a cab at the hotel or go to the airport with the courtesy shuttle to get one (So you don't pay the approach). Cost between 25 to 40 euros.
3/ Bus --> 2 options: Air France Coach service or Roissybus. Both get you to city center. Ticket price is something like 15 euros for AF bus and 10 euros for Roissybus.
4/ Airport shuttle - Many operators out of Roissy. Must be booked in advance.

I picked the infos from Shuttle-Paris.com (http://www.shuttle-paris.com)

Have a good trip.
