All Nippon Airways Mileage Club - Are the movies choices really that limited?

I am flying NH F JFK/NRT/JFK in October and was reading the digital book shown on their website with the October entertainment.

I've seen comments about the somewhat limited entertainment compared to other carriers, but I had no idea just how limited.

I figured it might not be SQ or CX but would be better than AA or UA but no such luck.

Are these really all the choices? Guess I need to plan on brining my own.

I'm surprised they've upgraded their product and but not improved the entertainment options.

Not to mention quite a few of them are Japanese programs too

When I fly NH, somehow I am just not that worried about entertainment choices... the food and drink options seem to be entertainment enough by themselves!

Besides, there's always the laptop/tablet.

Usually fly AA/CO/SQ/CX for TPAC and just recently tried NH... I was just as surprised/disappointed as you. Certainly CO but even AA has a better IFE selection. I often enjoy catching up on Asian and other foreign movies when flying but NH does not have English subtitles on the non-Japanese movies (and even some Japanese shows don't have subs) further limiting the selection.

for the reasons noted, I choose NH on the eastbounds and then either AC or UA for the westbounds.
