Last night I stayed at Scandic St Jorgen in central Malmo and I was given a 50SEk voucher for meal when I checked in since I was a Gold member. I kind of recall that Scandic used to have something like this for the members for the Scandic Club and now I wonder if I could expect this voucher at every Scandic visit?

Yes! According to the Swedish HHonors guide(which I picked up last week) Gold members receive

* Automatic upgrade to the best rooms (if available)
* 50 SEK meal voucher (excluding free stays)
* Complimentary fresh fruit and mineral water to your room.

Well I didnt get upgrade(actually the room was very small, but I guess a typical Swedish single room).

I didnt see any fruit or mineral water on my room either.

I had to ask for the water/fruit
at one scandic, they delivered it daily
at another, they had it in a cooler at the front desk, and you just had to ask on your way out as you walked by
no upgrades given during my stays, but I think all the rooms are the usual small, european

Earlier this evening I did send Scandic St Jörgen an email about this and my missing gold benefits. I was very surprised that I got a very long respond within three hours. Way go to Scandic.

Do these benefits apply to all Scandic's?
(I'll be staying at one in Belgium in a couple of weeks).

Thanks.

One problem here is that the hotels can't see your status online, so I guess the only way they can prepare a room for you is if you point out your status to them when reserving the room, not just stating the HHonors membership number.

They basiclly just said they where sorry that I didnt get my benefits as a gold member. They also said I need to mention my gold number when I make the booking.

I did that and I also showed my gold number at check in.

Kempis,

Since you did not really receive an aplolgy from Scandic, I suggest that you contact Adam Burke to advise him that there may be problems with the Scandic hotels understanding of the Hilton HHonors program.

You can do a search under the Hilton board to find his e-mail. Hilton may want to point out the program once more for the Scandic employees.

I just checked out from a scandic and they had lot of problems with the hh .
First they told me my number was invalid (eventhough they got all my personal info from the number) and when I showed proof, they said they had many problems with hh accounts.
So they would sent an email to hh instead of registering online (?) (hope I will see my points some day)

btw. Great hotel for the price Scandic Anglais Stockholm.
