Hilton HHonors - DUI rate at Hampton Inn-Old Town Scottsdale
Read in the papers today that the Hampton Inn - Old Town Scottsdale has a $39 "DUI" rate for people afraid to drink and drive. The rate is available by request only. You can make reservations in advance and you'll even get an Alka-Seltzer at check-in. Hotel officials say about half the parties who ask for the rate are walk-ins. Last summer, the hotel sold about 600 such stays.
As reported be AP.

Just make sure you write a note reminding yourself to get your miles and points... Hazy check-ins can cause memory lapses... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif
Are VSOI required for this rate?? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

I know it is just a figure of speach, but given the topic it is kind of funny...

And if $39 seems like too much, the Scottsdale PD has "DUI rate" where they will put you up for the night for free, but it's only free in the short run.

Somehow I would expect the winter DUI rate is at least $100 a night more...

I never thought I would be sad to see a hampton leave, but I really miss the Old Town Scottsdale Hampton. :( :( It's now being converted into some other hotel.
I used it last year for cheap stays, but it had a couple mexican food joints nearby that I used to frequent. Good times, even in a HI.
