Stayed one night at the Mercure Hotel Tilburg Centrum. For Dutch standards, it is a pretty nice hotel and deserves its **** rating. Location is excellent, the rooms are quite nice, and they have free wifi (and free apples at the reception).
My Platinum status was not recognized at all during check-in. In fact, at first I was told that my A-Club number is not registered. When I produced my card, she found the number in the reservation and handed back my card without a word (or an upgrade).
I think that the fact that breakfast is not included is one of the biggest disadvantages of accor hotels -- most of the Best Western hotels in the Netherlands include breakfast in their rates, and if you add the price of the breakfast to the price of the night, I paid almost EUR 140 for the Mercure. It was certainly not worth that much.
The breakfast was better than the Dutch standard, but not really great.
To summarize: a really nice hotel and I would in principle stay there again, but the final price tag of EUR 140 is too steep for what you get.
