Hilton HHonors - Am I going to get the credit/points?

I had made 2 reservations: one at Hampton Inn and one at Hilton Garden Inn. Two different cities (Chicago suburbs). About 2 days before the stay I cancelled one of them (Hampton Inn) and remained with the Hilton one. Saturday night, I go to check in and ... my reservation has been canceled but they DO have avaliable rooms so getting a one would not be a problem. First, kind of embarassing in front of all other business guys standing behind me and the guy is not very friendly either http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

Anyway, I know for SURE that I have not cancelled that reservation because I keep the track of all the emails from Hilton, copies of them as well and personally called an verified the reservations over the phone (I do that all the time, just in case something goes wrong with the website or internet itself, etc).

Well, this morning I wake up and there is new stay posted, guess what:

Hampton Inn - all bonus points and all posted.

The thing is, I did not stay there nor I had a reservation OPEN there. I still have not gotten credit for Hilton but I'm sure I'll. The question is will it count as a different stay (it was the same night) or not?

Also, of course, I don't think I'll be receiving the online booking bonus points as the reservation was made at the check-in.
Ohh boy!

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Did they charge your cc for stay at the Hampton Inn?

I just called the cc company and they said Hampton Inn made an authorization for $41 (the rate for the night was $49 + tax). Has not posted yet but it probably will in a couple of business days.

Your Hampton Inn "no-show" looks to me as your bigger problem.

Regarding your online booking bonus for the Hilton, I would e-mail and/or fax your docs and e-mails regarding this stay. That shows that you reserved on-line!?

USAFAN - What do you mean by "bigger problem"?

May be "bigger problem" is not the right languages.
You should see that you get the money back?

Out of curiousity, will they take the points away if I dispute the charges? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

May be not. I got a $30 or so credit for a charge which was not correct (from Hilton Lyon). The points where not reduced.
BTW, it took me 3 emails to get the credit ...

I just spoke to the manager of Hampton Inn and he explained that they had a server problem and that coused all the reservations to be duplicated. Credited my CC and said the account will update in 24h. I hope they are not going to take my points away http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

You know, the inconvinience http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif
