Le Club Accorhotels - Change of A-Club membership status?

I'm a bit confused. I was A-Club Plat until yesterday and was under the impression that a soft landing to Gold would happen automatically if not enough nights/points were accumulated through the year, so I had a few stays with Accor to at least stay at Gold level.

Got a mail this morning that my new Silver (?) card was on it's way which I find strange unless I'm missing something?

Could someone confirm (or the opposite) if soft landings are a fact or just a wishful thinking, and if the later, why Silver when I have not even reached silver level?

Thanks

Same thing happened to me this morning: just received an email - 'your new A|CLUB status': platinum to silver...thought it would be 'Gold' as did not stay not even nearly enough nights this year to retain Plat

It's that time of the year again. Accor seem to have problems with renewals and new cards every October. I also thought there is a soft landing policy in operation (especially as status can be obtained through dodgy internet codes).

I'd say PM the Accor Concierge and let her check this out (when she's back from holiday).

Hi,

I'm sorry you've lost your Platinum status. A|Club doesn't have a soft landing policy. Instead, "the Member receives the status level that corresponds to the activity" of the last 12 months (A|Club T&C).
Staying at Accor hotels at least once a year allows you, however, to extend your A|Club points' validity of 365 days.

Not a good idea, another one for the suggestion box..... ;)

Hmmm... I didn not even have enought nights to reach Silver...

Maybe it is time for Accor and I to part our ways.

It was fun while it lasted and I have got some great deals/fond memories from it.

Hello Cupart,

Maybe you had enough points to reach Silver.
How about trying your luck at http://www.facebook.com/AClubofficial?sk=app_258798234153615 and get free A|Club points?

Hi Dieu Anh,
Hi All,

How do I found the timeline out, when I shall have the amount of points posted in order to get my status renewed?

I mean when is the deadline? Is it visible somewhere?

Regards,

Dear Atlantico,

Please connect to your A|Club account at www.a-club.com. Click on "My Account > My account" and you will see "Extend your A|Club points expiration date by earning points before:" This is the deadline.

You will also see other information, such as:
A|Club points earned during the last 12 months
Number of A|Club points necessary to reach A|Club Silver/Gold/Platinum status
Number of nights necessary to reach A|Club Silver/Gold/Platinum status
Your last web connection

Best wishes,
Dieu Anh

Hi Dieu Anh,

I can't really see how that is going to make me want to stay with A-Club tbh :)

Thanks,

I didn't see you have already played and won.
However, if you lucky enough to win 25 000 or 1 000 000 points, you will be Platinum again. Haven't you said it was fun while you were Platinum?

Hi Accor Concierge,
I read with interest about the downgrading when stays are not reached to maintain status.
Can I check with you that if I elect to clock my points directly to an airline programme (e.g. Delta Skymiles), will A-club still register my stay to be considered for the year?
Please advise, thanks!

Dear yjames83,

If your stay is considered eligible then A|Club will still register your stay even if you transfer and convert automatically your points to airline miles. You can double check by logging in to your A|Club account on www.a-club.com (go to My Account > My account > Number of nights necessary to reach A|Club *** status).

Have a nice day!
Dieu Anh
