Frontier Airlines EarlyReturns - June 2011 T100 stats (onboard loads)

Here are onboard loads for the eastern division of Frontier, plus some select competitors. As always, remember that onboard load is only half the picture when trying to guess relative performance, as it says little about fare and traffic composition.

Markets flown primarily by Airbus or EJet
As has been discussed before, Republic does not tally thru passengers in their onboard loads, leading to notable diferrences in directional load factors in certain markets with notable traffic where thru flights operated.

Is it me or does it seem that WN is doing a lot better in MKE load wise?

Depends on how you look at it. Onboard load factor has improved in several markets

Southwest
90.6% ….. MKE ….. LAS.....was 79.7% in 2010 but FL load factor down 10.9 points from 95.0% to 84.1%
90.5% ….. MKE ….. MCO....was 78.8% in 2010 but 50% cut in seats
87.7% ….. MKE ….. PHX.....was 88.8% in 2010
83.6% ….. MKE ….. MCI.....was 66.1% in 2010 but 33% cut in seats
80.7% ….. MKE ….. BWI.....was 72.3% in 2010 but FL load factor down 8.4 points from 83.2% to 74.8%
78.9% ….. MKE ….. TPA.....was 84.0% in 2010

So they are definitely flying fewer empty seats on WN, but that largely is coming from reduced capacity or from pulling pax away from AirTran. With no link yet between FL and WN (no code sharing, cross branding, joint FF program, etc) I doubt very many FL loyalists moved to WN because they will eventually become one. Rather, I think that as awareness of WN has increased in Milwaukee they are having better penetration in some of their markets, and in most of these markets their big competitor is AirTran.

Doesn't DL fly MCI-LGA too? I'm shocked how high the load factors are on MCI-BOS for both F9 and DL.

Yup, Delta does fly MCI-LGA...I just didn't include MCI-LGA because it wasn't among the new markets what DL launched in Kansas City.

DL* was 81.7% full for the month on MCI-LGA / LGA-MCI.
