Here's a report for a stay I had 9/24-9/25

Location: The hotel is located in Uptown Charlotte, an area going through a lovely gentrification a few blocks east of downtown. It's directly across from the Mecklenburg County Courthouse and just off Interstate 277. There are numerous restaurants around here though in bad weather it might be a bit far to walk to them (the one we went to was 0.8 miles away). Be aware that Mapquest Directions are inaccurate as you have to make a U-Turn on McDowell Street as the left turn they tell you to make into the hotel is blocked by a median.

Hotel: The hotel is an older structure in need of some upkeep. It is attached to a decent sized parking garage ($15 a night) which you use your room key for in/out privileges. The lobby is a bit small and the check in area tiny (only room for two people to work at a CP? too small if you ask me). There's a small pantry area next to the check in desk with sundries/snacks. The bar is actually nice and decently sized, though it closed at 11 on a Saturday. The elevators are similarly small.

Check-In: I was meeting a friend here and I arrived second so I did not need to check in. I will say that the staff, once available (long waits due to the too small desk) were very helpful.

Room: The room was definitely showing its age and upkeep is clearly not a priority here. The armchair was stained, the tables dusty (enough to write in them), the door to the room stuck and had to be forced open (my friend who's a regular here says this is common), the TV is an old CRT variety etc. Oh and there's no closet, just a bar with hangers by the door which you can seal off with a shower curtain (?). The bathroom is also small with poor water pressure in the shower. Still, the Wireless worked well and the beds are comfortable and we did have a balcony.

Other: I didn't eat here but I was impressed with the alcohol selection at the bar as well as the bartenders who worked there.

Overall I had a nice visit but I was not overly impressed with this hotel. It feels like it would barley register as an HI and definitely does not deserve to be a CP.
