Singapore - Singapore climate

Going to be in Singapore for 4 days or so in the beginning of November. Noticed that Singapore weather is pretty much hot/humid all year round.
My wife has had horrible issues with bug bites in Shanghai and Taiwan in the summer months even with bug spray, and she has reacted horribly to some. So we will be looking for some heavy duty bug spray as a precaution.
My question is - anyone had any experience/issues with bug bites in Singapore? Any advice?

I've been to Singapore four times and bugs were never a problem, even at the Singapore Botanic Gardens and National Orchid Garden. I think it's too hot and humid for the bugs. :D

Same as the above poster. Have never found bugs to be a problem in Singapore.
I was there in November last year and I didn't have any problems with bugs. The weather was really hot and humid. A little bit of rain but not enough to ruin my vacation. :)

The only bug bites in Singapore would be those from mosquitoes.
Mosquitoes seem to be attracted to certain people more than others...dont know why.
Recently, at least for me, there seems to be a lot less mosquitoes around.

There are bugs around especially mosquitos. You won't need heavy duty insect repellant but a simple one will do.
It depends on luck and where you are to get bitten.

I've been to Singapore many times (in fact, I am on my way there tomorrow) and I've never had an issue with bugs or bug bites... Singapore maintains a strict mosquito control policy. Folks who leave standing water around after it rains do get fined. However, if you plan on hiking/walking the nature reserves outside the city, then do bring some mosquito repellent with you.
