bmi diamond club - First redemption: how did they get this figure?

I just redeemed myself a C+M ticket:
CDG-MUC-ICN-KHV
(side gripe: I wish I had time to stop in ICN, awesome deal to spend time in Korea, but an earlier departure was not available, and I needed to arrive in KHV by 10/10, and this route gets me there on the last ICN-KHV before 10/11)

Anyway, I was originally anticipating 4500 miles +£52+ tax for a biz class ticket.

but then the ICC rep quoted me 26k+ miles (miles only), and that threw me off, so I asked why it was so high, and she said "connection is 7500 each", which reminded me to glance at the line on the bottom of the dc redemption chart page, and confirmed it in my head.

Then I asked for a miles+cash total, and she said "10,500 miles and £97" which sounded correct on the phone, more or less, so I booked it.

Now I'm trying to figure out how she arrived at the number, and can't...
:confused:
if ICN and MUC are are each a connection, it should still be 10,125; but ICN is not in Europe, so there shouldn't be a connection fee for it at all, if I'm interpreting the them correctly...

ok, I guess ICN should count, because final destination of the trip is within europe...but it's not like I had a choice, it's the only way to get to KHV! oh well, that's fine... still would like to know where the extra 475 miles came from...not that it makes a difference in life... it's only about £5...but I like knowing...

M+C return prices (Y)
z1-z2 = 6k
connection = 4k each

z1-z2 with 2 connections = (6+4+4)/2 = 7k
In J = 7*1.5 = 10,500

You can't really complain about the double connection fee - by the "ICN isn't in Europe" logic, they should be charging you for a z1-z8, and you'd be paying 26250 for the same journey!

Even if your timings work, you wouldn't be allowed a stopover in ICN - as this is a "European" redemption and stopovers aren't allowed in Europe.

ah, did not know that connections were 4k each, I thought they were 3.75k each (half of 7.5k)

Not complaining about it, just thought it was supposed to not count; but then re-read it and understood that it did count indeed. The only complaint was not understanding how the numbers added, which you've resolved. :)
