Does anyone know if or when the A330s will operate the Rome-Toronto route? Planning a trip to Italy in the spring, Alitalia offers the best fare, but those 767s.....

There will be 4 deliveries between January and July 2012 [as far as I remember].

Actually I wonder what AZ wants to do with the 767s and the old A330s: no upgrade announced so far, no clear phase-out plan afaik. The delivery pace of the A330s has been quite stable, but the uncertainty is all about the other planes.

Well, one of the old A330s will go to Iberia (woo-hooo, always improving their quality, it seems). The other (the repainted one) will be gradually phased out from service.
The 767s should be phased out as well, but timeline is unclear. What is clear is that the first 777 will undergo refit in just a few weeks ^

I just looked at www.planespotters.net and saw that Alitalia now has 7 A330's. Does this include the 2 old 332's? It also says that there is only 1 more A 330 on order. Are these #'s accurate? (the web site was last updated today it says)

Those 767's will be scraped as the new A332's will be delivered... Five new A332's have been ordered and they will replace those tired 767's.

Yes but then it was only a rumour with a 0% chance of being true, now it's actually reality which is horrible.

Update: according to the Rocco Sabelli, the CEO, in 2012 all planes will be either new or refitted, as compared to those available in 2009.
