hotel names exactly as listed on HH sites, airport code index found at the end. Feel free to follow-up you want more info…

Homewood Suites by Hilton Chicago-Downtown
Wonderful... really liked the location. PF Chang’s across the street. “Original” Pizzeria Uno around the corner. Nice room, very clean and professional. Late checkout, no problem.

Embassy Suites Hotel Denver Tech Center
Arrived late, ~11:30p – 12a. The front desk was unattended. Another guy on line waiting for 5+ minutes. Finally after about 10 minutes I was in my room. They had some kind of antiquated phone system in the room. I had no problem w/ the property, just the night clerk who decided to take a break. But, the property was really convenient for where I needed to go. Received amenity kit.

Hampton Inn & Suites Destin, FL
Nice property. Upgraded to a two-room suite. Microbrewery across the street was out of business, but there were other dining options locally. Beach is across the street.

Doubletree Club Los Angeles International Airport
Nice property. Regular airport shuttle. Free parking for guests. Little sundry shop adjacent to check-in. “Business Center” left a lot to be desired... Basically it was a printer (w/o cable) and a copier, that’s it. Hotel restaurant just changed the menu to some kind of “new latin” cuisine. About 5 – 7 minutes from LAX, located in a business park.

Hilton Crystal City at Ronald Reagan National Airport
Generic room, suites were “gone”, had a semantic discussion at check-in about getting an upgraded room, or HH floor(s). I arrived early and was flexible w/ check-in. I got a total run-around about whether they were available, or being cleaned, etc. I just gave up and took a “regular” room.

Delightful view http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/rolleyes.gif of the roof next door. Great concierge lounge, although the attendant was a bit snappy once. Two-drinks are complimentary, I was traveling w/ a work companion who was tied up on the phone, so I was being nice and I decided to get him a refill along w/ mine. The attendant said something like, “we have a two-drink limit... we’ll have to charge your room for one of those,” or words to that effect. What happened to the honor-system? Its not like I’m going to sit up there and get tanked! Of course, the charges were not applied after I “explained” the situation.

Also, I had (2) one-night reservations for the property. Once booked via hilton.com and the other via a travel agent. I didn’t do it for stay credit, but rates... anyway, the agent cancelled the hilton.com res and merged it into the TA booking. So, I lost the bonus points... called HH to complain and dealt w/ some moron that should never be allowed to talk to customers ever again. Suffice to say that the matter is still unresolved.

Legal Seafood and Chili’s across the street. Blue/Yellow Metro lines w/in about a 3 block walk, up to the Marriot Gateway and into the underground mall.

Doubletree Club San Antonio Airport
There are two Doubletrees on the 410 loop near the airport, this is the one East of the airport. Checked-in kinda late and there was a bit of a line. Nothing worth eating locally, but every option imaginable within a few minute’s drive.

Doubletree Guest Suites Tampa Near Busch Gardens
Property was a bit old. Received breakfast coupons w/o asking. I wasn’t going to Busch Gardens, but this property was convenient to my final destination.

Doubletree Club Boston Bayside
Nice property, but not optimally located. I arrived a bit late in the evening and the only dining option was Au Bon Pain. Small bar area plus tables.

Doubletree Club Dallas-Farmer's Branch
Nice property. Virtually the same comments as the Boston property. Located in a quasi-commercial park, seemingly surrounded by some dot.com infrastructure companies. Au bon Pain and a little bar area, and a pool table too I think.

Dallas Parkway Hilton
Generic, run of the mill hotel. The Doubletree across the way seemed spectacular. I went into the DTree to see if I could get a room there, but there was some kind of event/convention going on and the rate was astronomical. Nice bar/restaurant in the Hilton. No upgrade available. Adjacent to Dallas Galleria, massive shopping complex.

Embassy Suites Hotel Milwaukee-West
To be honest, I don’t remember much, I arrived late at night... unremarkable, but sometimes that’s a good thing http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif Quality service, no complaints. Received amenity kit.

Las Vegas Hilton
There’s probably not much to say that hasn’t been said 100 times over in another thread. However, I did receive my breakfast coupons w/o asking. I received something above a standard room, but it wasn’t a true suite. Well, I did get lost finding my room http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

Doubletree Club Syracuse
Been to this property a few times. It is OK. Au Bon Pain and “Club” bar located inside. Within waking distance to “Colorado Steak Company” (or something like that) restaurant... a chain outfit but better than hotel food. Rooms could use a bit of an update, but the property is conveniently located at the intersection of I-90 (NYS Thruway) and I-81.

Doubletree Guest Suites Seattle-Southcenter
I was upgraded to a *massive* room, I mean huge. Very nice ambiance in the hotel; large open area like an Embassy Suites. Received breakfast coupons w/ room keys, etc. Hotel shuttle, but not as often as the DTree SEATAC. I’ve stayed at both, and I think I like Southcenter more. But, I do like the larger-than-life big-screen TV in the SEATAC property bar.

Embassy Suites Hotel Las Vegas-Convention Center
Nice property, but I got totally hosed on the rate. There was a huge convention in town and I couldn’t find a room anywhere... I wound up paying $220+ for the room... ridiculous. Received amenity kit.

Doubletree Club Miami Airport
Not up to standard with other properties; Seemed pretty old. No upgrade. Honestly, I would not recommend this property. Another thread has mentioned good things about a Homewood close-by.

Hilton San Diego Airport/Harbor Island
I was just there for a quick night’s sleep, so I can’t say that I recall a whole lot. But, the room was nice and clean and the staff was helpful. No upgrade. Business center w/ computer, high-speed line, printer, etc. Seemed to be a nice restaurant/bar, but I didn’t have any time to go.

Doubletree Mission Valley
Very nice property. Good service. Upgraded to the executive level; nightly appetizers and beverages, breakfast in same lounge. Pretty cool sushi/chinese restaurant in the mall next to the hotel, “Shanghai.”. Seemed to be another nice “American” restaurant in the mall too.

Hilton Garden Inn Philadelphia Center City
Very nice! Within walking distance to my destination. Nice bar/restaurant on the 10th (?) floor. Adjacent to the Convention Center. Free drink coupon upon check-in, as well as HH VIP amenity kit.

Homewood Suites by Hilton Rochester/Henrietta
Again, very nice property... but, it is in the middle of nowhere if you don’t have a car; nothing to eat in the immediate vicinity. However, if you do have a car there’s just about one of everything you could ask for w/in a 5 minute radius. Oh, yeah... it is very close (walking distance) to a “Golden Bear” franchise driving range; outdoors when weather permits and an indoor domed area during the winter... nice short game area too. If you’re going for an extended stay, bring some clubs if you can, your stay will be much nicer!

Hilton Silver Spring
Stayed there several times, always upgraded to a two-room suite. (2) bottles of Perrier and cookies in the room every time. Nice continental breakfast. Would definitely stay again/recommend.STILL WAITING FOR MY TRIPLE BASE POINTS from the promo... never got ‘em.

Embassy Suites Hotel El Paso
Currently under renovation... it could use it. Something leads me to believe that these renovations have been going on for a while. There was a sign stating “pardon the dust, etc... we’re tying to make it nice for 2002” or something like that. Not real fair to judge it “as is.” No problems w/ the service or the room, although it was a bit old.

Embassy Suites Hotel Phoenix-Airport West
Standard Embassy Suites property. Quoted 20-minute pick-up via airport shuttle, if you are just carry-on, call ‘em from your cell as you deplane. Also, no “regular” schedule for the shuttle, if you’re going to the airport in the morning, you need to make an appointment for a ride. Restaurant on 5th is OK.

Embassy Suites Hotel San Francisco-Airport/Burlingame
Very pleasant stay. Property right on the water, one side faces the bay (?) and you can watch the aircraft land at SFO if you like that kinda thing. Nice running track up and down the water. Property had a full service restaurant that seemed a bit pricey, but the bar served lighter fare and was fine for me. Good selection of beers on tap. Full fitness center. If you don’t have a rental car, you are going to eat on site, there are no other local options.

Homewood Suites by Hilton Ft. Worth-North at Fossil Creek
Nice property. I haven’t had anything bad to say about a Homewood Suites yet. Asked for a late-checkout... no problem. Didn’t seem to be anything decent for dinner in the immediate vicinity. But, then again, if you’re at the property you’ve probably got a rental car anyway.

Thanks for all the good info! Two questions about the Las Vegas properties: First, you said you got breakfast coupons at the LV Hilton. Was this for the buffet? Last time I was there they were giving free continental breakfast through room service only. If the buffet is an option now, so much the better.

Also, any recommendations for a good room location at the ES? I'm interested in a quiet room for a good night's sleep.

Thanks for any info.

1) The breakfast was for room service only...

2) Sorry, I can't pinpoint a room for you... I think I occupied the room for all of about 8hrs max... come to think of it, my room was near an elevator, so you might want to avoid that, but the property I was in is off the Strip, so there's not a tremendous amount of noise...

The Hilton Miami airport is nice. However, they charged my credit card twice for the same stay so double check your bill.

Thanks again. I was concerned about whether noise from Paradise would be a problem at the ES, but it sounds like it isn't. I'll remember to ask for a room away from the elevators. Good suggestion.

must be a Miami thing... I was charged by the DTree MIA Airport for a cancelled reservation... they did obviously put the $$$ back on my card...

this pales in comparison to the Holiday Inn Select in Ft. Myers, FL... they billed me for $200+ dollars seemingly randomly... I had not stayed at their property in about 4 months and this charge just showed up on my card http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/rolleyes.gif it was the exact same amount as my last stay... when I called them, they had "no record" of the charges and would not reverse the charges... the good folks at AMEX were able to get them to rethink their decision http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif
