anyone have suggestions on where to meet for an informal business meeting at Miami airport? i'm departing D (AA) and they are arriving in terminal J (air canada). is it relatively easy to meet somewhere in between (e.g. terminals F or G)? are their inter-terminal shuttles?

You can easily walk between the Concourses although everything will be post Security (except Concourses D&E, AA). There are many lounge type seats outside of Security if privacy or quiteness is not an issue. There is also an onsite hotel that you could use the hotel bar.

If you're not going through during a big international arrival bank, the top floor of most of the terminals is pretty quiet.

In case it wasn't clear, you can't stay airside to get between J and D/E. G is isolated, too, not sure about F.

thanks. maybe i'm confused. i interpreted one of the earlier replies as J and D/E being connected by an airside interior corridor/walkway. not the case?

The arrows (black or white) show the security access points. With the exception of the airside connecting hallway (the gray line between blue "D" and yellow "E"), there are no other concourse-to-concourse airside connectors; you need to come out to landside to move between Concourses.

thanks for clarifying. are all the terminals connected internally landside (pre-security)?

I think so, but I don't know for sure. You might have to cut through the MIA Mover station to get all the way around, but that'll also be a lot faster.

H/J are connected airside by the mall/food court. G is isolated. D/E are connected airside. I assume F is isolated, but I am not sure. It's probably a 7 min walk the long way (the U shaped horseshoe route) from J to D. You have to go outside for a minute between F/G and E. I expect cutting through the garage is somewhat shorter.
