Looking to take the family to Hawaii. Flying into HNL. What hotels are the nicest there? I have 150,000 Hilton points and 1 Q3FN. Hyatt- 200,000 pts. Intercontinental 150,000 points. Thank you!

probably not the best place to start a thread....but most hawaii hotels are in the 20-40k miles range just fyi..seems like you have enough points as a whole to get some rooms..

not to many holiday inns in hawaii...

hiltons have the hawaiian village and waikoloa...which both are good..but waikoloa is especially good....the grand wailea..which I think is hilton is one of the best pools in the world...the double tree/embassy suites is just blah...

hyatt regency waikiki is alright..the Kauai grand hyatt is nice...with another great pool/beach area...never been to the maui hyatt yet...

You didn't mention anything in regards to island hopping...so are you staying on Oahu?

The Hilton Hawaiian Village is 50K per night. If you have a Hilton Am Ex you can get an AXON award for 4 nights at 145K instead of 200K. if you have status with Hilton you will get a nice upgrade usually (we were in the Tapas tower with a great view) and they have a nice continental breakfast in a room the overlooks their little beach area.

The Hyatt isn't actually on the beach..it is across from the beach. I personally do not care to stay on that end of Waikiki. The end by the Hilton is so much more spread out and nicer...especially the park at Ft. Derussey...

I don't know a lot about Priority Club...but I can assure you the hotels on Waikiki are not as nice.

Save your Hyatt points or use them for the second part of your stay....

Can you island hop??? If so try the Hyatt on Maui or Kauai. We just stayed at the Hyatt on Maui after we left Oahu and our son (7) had a great time...

If you have kids you can also consider the Embassy Suites..more space but father from the beach. More a city feel that a beach resort. same 50K.

pretty good free breakfast at embassy suites waikiki...

the hyatt regency waikiki was going thru some striking a few weeks ago but I think its over with...yes the regency is across the street from beach but i'm pretty sure they have a unblocked view of the beach..

thank you for all the comments. I wanted to spend 5 days in Oahu and then 4 days on Maui. Hoping to see 2 islands and still have a relaxing, enjoyable time. Any ideas on what I "have to do" while there? Thank you!

There is a holiday inn in Waikiki
The old waikiki islander or ohana islander
It was remodeled before converting to a Holiday Inn
Nice enough hotel before remodel nicer now
Across street from water and Cheesecake Factory some rooms have views some don't
But smack dab in the middle of all the action of Waikiki and next to the intl marketplace!

MUCH, MUCH better than the previous Holiday Inn location. They do have a pool.

honestly i don't love the holiday inn..in waikiki..or also known as the waikiki beachcomber..its nice..but something feels tacky about it...although i've never stayed in the rooms..they also have a jimmy buffets restaurant...

lots of books and websites for what to do...but I would suggest either buyings or borrowing Oahu Revealed or Maui Revealed..excellent guide books which i used on interisland(even though i'm from hawaii)...especially good on secret spots(waterfalls, pools etc)...

when i go to maui I just like to spend my time going to all the cool pools(grand wailea)
