View Full Version : Award Reservation Question

1. Do you have to have all points before making award reservation or does HH allow "sometime" (to accrue or transfer remaining points)?

2. Does HH allow purchasing points if you are short of points?

3. How about extra (3rd) adult on award stays? If fee is charged, it is eligiable for points?

Thanks in advance!

you may purchase up to 20% of your award points. 1000 points = $10. a good value.

You don't need to have all the points at the time of making the reservation. In fact I would suggest you call and try to make your reservation as early as possible. Some hotels fill all of the HHonors rooms quite early. At least for the VIP rewards, You need to make the reservation for an award stay, and then call hhonors to request your award cert anyway.

I am not sure about a third adult, I know there is no problem with kids, but don't know how they treat adults.

I didn't want to start a whole new thread, but couldn't find a clear answer to my quesion anywhere, so I will be using this one.

The terms on the Hhonors site read like this about award reservation cancellation:

<<
7. All reward reservations must be guaranteed with a credit card. Some hotels may require a deposit in lieu of a credit card guarantee. Deposits cannot be waived for Reward reservations. Reservations that are cancelled outside of the time frame set by the hotel's individual cancellation policy will be charged one night's room and tax at the hotel's minimum rate for that date.
>>

Does this mean that I can cancel my reservation for an award stay 3 days (or whatever the time frame is) before check-in, just like for a regular stay ?

How far in advance can we make reward reservations? I have heard that Marriott allows reservations up to 50 weeks in advance.

1. NO
2. Yes
3. Have had a third adult many times, even requested sleeper cot w/no extra cost involved. an extra cost would be eligible for points.

Thanks. That's good to know.

1. Does HHonors still send out award cert, or you can just print it out yourself?

2. When you reserve an award room, don't you need to provide the cert number as well? The web site seems to ask you to make a reservation, BEFORE claiming the award.

It can be done either way.

No, you don't. First, you make your reservation (making sure it's for an award stay), then you get your award certs (the easiest way is to print them online).

I think I know the answer to this, but you all are much smarter than me so I'll ask... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif It appears there is no way to view your award booking online, or specifically, add notes. I have a booking for ES Lake Buena Vista for next year and wanted to add a note about getting a room not facing I-4. Am I correct that a call to HH would do it, or perhaps the property itself? Thx

First, I'd definitely call the propert itself instead of HH. And second, I'd do it just a few days before my arrival... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif
