I have upcoming travel and one route I was looking at is a one way rental - arriving Amtrak-Albany and dropping off at MHT. Since the pickup location is not an airport, it wasn't searchable online when I tried Expedia.
I read somewhere on flyertalk that Enterprise (and one other company I can't remember if Avis or Hertz) meets people at the Amtrak.
I called Enterprise at the ALB airport and was referred to the downtown Albany location (Pearl Street). This branch services a kiosk in the Amtrak station and will meet me there. For my dates (Oct 7-12) the cost for a minivan is $700 (weekly rate of $499). This is ok with me, I have already reserved it - I am looking for feedback if anyone has ever used Enterprise at this location. I called the branch directly and they seemed nice enough. They want me to confirm arrival time by calling them when the Amtrak stops at Hudson (the stop before Albany).
I did not try to call Hertz or Avis - perhaps I should for comparison purposes, but the communication with Enterprise at this branch has been good - they call me back when they say they will. The only thing is they were not able to give me online confirmation (no emailable confirmation and I can't check my reservation online). So I hope I don't get stranded or anything.
So does anyone have feedback for Enterprise. Do you think I will get a minivan as requested? What kind of minivan will it likely be? I am hoping to get something with a middle seat in the 3rd row (so all 3 rear passengers can be in the 2nd row and we can maximize the back for luggage), but I guess this is unlikely with the standard Grand Caravan. At least the rear seat is a split seat right?
Also, if anyone has experience returning at MHT, please share.
Thanks.
