Quick question for anyone who'd stayed at both: Radisson or Westin at LAX?
I have a rate of $66 at the Radisson, $76 at the Westin (both BRG rates). One night, I will arrive very late, use the airport shuttle and leave the next morning on a rental (Midway if Radisson, Fox if Westin). Radisson includes wifi, Westin requires an extra $13. Tripadvisor is very lukewarm about Radisson, Westin sounds much better. Your thoughts?

Westin is a little bit better of the two but the LAX Westin is not up to par like a normal Westin. More like Sheraton+. Go with this option if you need to accumulate SPG points for Gold Status.

Radisson LAX is a little run down but $66 seems reasoanble. Also much closer to In-N-Out Burger and LAX terminals... you can walk to/from Radisson to T1/T2 in about 10 minutes, or T5/T6 in about 15 minutes. May be a faster option than waiting for shuttle late at night (they may not come for a long time).

MY vote-Westin. Westin may be quieter. Walking to Radisson at night not highly recommended.

I stayed at the Raddison many times when it was a Hyatt and it wasn't great then and I can't imagine it being nicer than the Westin, which is one of the nicer hotels on Century.

I've actually walked from LAX to the Courtyard next to the Radisson at about 10 p.m. and it's not that bad if you stick to Century. I would never want to walk on 98th or any of the other side streets to the north.

Century is very safe at night with lots of people walking to and from the airport. I see flight crews walking up to Radisson all the time at odd hours in the morning.

How would you see that? Do you troll Century at odd hours in the night?

I've been known to ride my bike to In-N-Out burger and LAX for plane spotting at all kinds of weird hours :D

Like I said, the area is pretty safe with fair amount of pedestrian traffic even at 1 AM.

Thanks a lot for your feedback. Very helpful as always.

I won't walk: arriving 22:30 after a 26-hour journey (and to Terminal 4), I'd rather take a taxi if the shuttle is slow. So this isn't an issue. And the following morning I'll rent a car, both hotels have rental agencies within a block and rental rates are similar, so again non-issue.

Basically it's whether the Westin is worth the additional $23 ($10 rate difference plus $13 for wifi, which I need). I guess the answer is yes.

As you can see, it's individual, based on tastes and budget. Westin seems to get better reviews on Tripadvisor, but sometimes you have to take those with a grain of salt. We stayed at the Radisson a year or so ago, through Priceline, when we were bumped from the hotel we wee first assigned, the Sheraton. It was relatively basic, but clean and although we were in a room facing the airport, heard virtually no noise (heard more noise at the Crowne Plaza) and service was generally good. Saw lots of groups staying there. The bar/cafe had limited selections. The main restaurant was far from cheap but was very good. Fitness center was basic and pool only outside. I would pay $23 extra to stay at the Hilton or Sheraton, while I wouldn't pay extra to stay at the Crowne Plaza, but can't opine on the Westin since haven't stayed there. Many of the shuttles serve more than one hotel (I think the same shuttle serves the Westin and Radisson). You're not likely to be walking around much at night. Radisson was quite close to the large consolidated bus stop serving LAX.
