Chase Ultimate Rewards - 5 chase cards want to keep 1 or 0; suggestions?

I recently applied and met spend for:

UA Select (50k UA miles)
CO OP (50k CO miles)
Sapphire Pref (50k UR points)
Ink Bold (50k UR points)
Priority Club (50k Priority Club pts)

Points should all post in 2-4 weeks. I've confirmed I'll get them all with Chase online.

They have a significant (to me) credit limit across the cards in total; not as significant individually; each are about the same size.

I definitely don't want to keep all the cards, and I don't fly *A except in places where there's no cheap Skyteam or oneworld flights (like Shanghai to Nairobi).

I would like to cancel the cards and move all the points into one of the only three programs I do use (AA, DL, or SPG), but not sure if there is a way to do so.

If I can't do that, I'd like to move them all into 1 program. I think I can do that via UA, but then I need to figure out a way to keep the miles from expiring.

One option is to just buy something from the UA mall every now and then (imagine UA has one?) or to keep 1 of the cards.

I'd prefer to dump the cards in order to avoid the fee, but if I can consolidate the various credit limits across the cards into 1 card, it would be substantial and might help my credit score and therefore be worth keeping.

No rush as I have to wait 4 more months to avoid the clawback, but not sure what to do...

There is no way to transfer these points into DL, AA, or SPG. At least without losing considerable value along the way. Points.com has terrible transaction rates.

You can transfer most of these points into United (Ultimate Rewards points would transfer first to Continental, then to United). Here (http://www.priorityclub.com/rewards/us/en/redeem/) is a link to redemption options for Priority Club; they can be used for hotels (best value), gift cards, merchandise, and what they call "experiences." I hope you researched how you could use the points and mile programs before you applied for the cards.

You can keep United miles active by buying something through their shopping mall once every 18 months. Surely you can figure out something to do with 200,000 Star Alliance miles! I'll take them if you don't want them!

Of those cards, the cheapest to maintain long term is the Priority Club; it offers a free hotel night every year to offset the annual fee, and gives you a 10% rebate on points redeemed during the year. The Sapphire card has the best ongoing earning potential and the most flexible rewards. That said, it is up to you whether you want to keep any of the cards, but transfer your points to another partner before you close the Sapphire or Ink Bold card.

About UA miles: I've been using the United toolbar for Internet searches. So I earn a small amount of miles for web searches. I'm thinking (hoping) that this will prevent my UA account from expiring.

I'm planning to "top off" my CO account by transferring some Chase Ultimate Rewards points (from my Sapphire Preferred card) to CO before the end of this year. Currently, if I were to combine my UA and CO accounts, I'd have just a shade under 200K miles. So I'm going to "top off" so that I've got a combined UA + CO balance of at least 200K. (This should hopefully permit a nice award flight in the future.) Remember that transfers from Chase U.R. to Continental will end at the end of 2011.

I see no reason to keep the Ink card (unless you have a legit business - you could then write off the $95 annual fee as a business expense). I don't think the Ink card has some of the nice bennies that the Sapphire Preferred has (double points for most travel expenses, no foreign exchange fee).

I do have a legit business, but I'm running those expenses through a Delta Amex and a Capital One cashback.

Great idea on the UA search toolbar. I think that sounds like a plan.
