Anyone else get this email?

Dear XXXXXX,

I want to personally thank you for your rental in Oakland, CA in June 2011 and give you a great reason to rent with us again. Enjoy a free rental day from Alamo that you can use any day of the week at any participating Alamo location in the US or Canada.

There's only one thing left to do: Book and rent your free day using Coupon Code XXXXXXXXX before it expires on October 31, 2011.

I'm not a particularly loyal Alamo customer, counted off the top of my head 4 rentals through Alamo in the last 12 months, all but one were cheap weekend rentals. I don't even collect Alamo points, get my rewards through AS miles. As I have a last minute trip to Detroit coming up where rental rates are sky high for when I was looking, this was a real godsend to my broke .... Just curious if this was very targeted or if any/many others got this email.

I got it. Booked a 24 hour rental in STL, only being charged for less than $2.00 in taxes. Saved almost $100 on a Midweek fullsize rental.

I rent maybe 5 times a year total of 16-20 days, always use coupon codes or Costco discount. Maybe it is a random thing.

I like it and hope to get more.

I got it as well, but it is pretty much useless to me. Most any of the coupons that you get on the internet are better, and as far as I know, you can only use one coupon per rental.....

Maybe someone can tell me how this works better for them than, for instance, any of the costco coupons?

I think you are talking about something else. This is for a free day - no strings attached.

I received the email. I booked a car at ISP which would have cost me $70 and change. I think it came to about 9 bucks.

:DThanks Alamo!!!:D I will be using the rental when I fly to Long Island to celebrate my Aunt's 90th birthday!!!

Ah, I see. So you dont have a minimum of 3 days or anything. Makes sense to me now.

I got one of these two... only two Alamo rental in the past 12 months.

Now, anyone want to guess if I can still earn miles if I use this free day coupon for a single day rental? It would be a nice cheap hit for the US Grand Slam promo...

I haven't ever used Alamo, but I did join and buy some of the half priced $50 discounts during the Discover America month, and I have booked a 4 day rental in Nov. But I did get a one day free rental coupon for my birthday a few weeks ago :-)

I got the birthday one, it is different as it has a two day minimum.
