ByrdluvsAWACO Sep 20, 11, 5:22 am Is IT seeing any revenue increase from the AA and BA codeshares? Too much travel Sep 26, 11, 9:10 am Does anyone know why their Oneworld membership is taking so long? I am pretty sure that their accession will help materially. Just as an anecdote, their HKG-BOM-HKG business class tickets are approximately one-third of what Cathay is charging, despite the fact that the Kingfisher flights are better-timed in both directions. Conversations with regular travellers from HKG to BOM, the only thing that is stopping them moving their business is the fact that they cannot earn Oneworld status points on Kingfisher at present. So there is the inept Kingfisher management desperately discounting their prices in order to get business, when they don't realise that all it takes is accelerated Oneworld membership and they can charge close to Cathay prices AND increase their loads. While we're on that point, surely there has got to be better use of their A330s than sitting around at HKG all day waiting for a return trip. Why can't they head off back to BOM mid-morning and then do an extra turn to DXB or something? planensimple Sep 26, 11, 9:24 am The membership process isn't delayed in any sense, IT is on track to join OW in Q1 2012 unless they go under due to their financial troubles. The last couple of flights I've been, the in-flight service and the hard product have just been shabby. If AI couldn't get into *A, I really wonder how IT managed to given the current status of affairs there I have to say the Kingfisher product seems to be on a downhill spiral. I fly them between Delhi and Bangalore approximately 4-5 times a year and over the last 3 years it seems to have gotten progressively worse. There was a time when you could count on personal service and the employees doing what it takes to make a customer happy. Yesterday I was flying in from the US. I was flying RJ in business ORD-Amman-DEL and then connecting to KF in economy. My Amman Delhi flight was about an hour delayed and landed around 5:30. Immigration was backed up so by the time I got to the KF checkin it was about 5 minutes to 6 and I had a 6:45 AM flight. I did not have any checked bags so decided to try the kiosk. The woman at the kiosk was having trouble operating the machine and thus took me to the counter. This took around 5-6 mts and the clock ticked over to 6:01. The KF supervisor refused to check me in (45 minute rule) and I was forced to pay Rs1500 to be put on the next flight which was 4 hours later. I did not care about the payment but with 40 mts to go (and the delay of kiosk was their fault) and hardly any line at security I could have easily made it to the gate. On the flight itself I noticed that they did not distribute any headphones and there was no audio or video programming (they still have the personal TVs in coach but they just show the map). Really sad to see this once decent airline go down this way. Keyser Sep 27, 11, 4:10 am Part of Oneworld with what? And the last minute fares on other carriers are exorbitant. as a one world emerald I am starting to get really worried. I was happy when the announcement of KF into one world was made but am no longer sure. I had switched all my (India) flying to KF but if this is the kind of service and reliability they are offering then not sure if anyone would want to deal with that. Last year they had cancelled one of my flights on me (DEL - GOA non stop). Just as star alliance guys were not thrilled about AI, I am hoping One world has second thoughts on King Fisher. Regardless, IT is trying to right the ship, with some concrete steps in the right direction (elimination of IT Red, joining Oneworld, etc.) Keyser Oct 4, 11, 11:17 am And a short while ago I got an SMS that my flight tomorrow is cancelled. :td: No alternatives offered except for the (eventual) refund!
