Apologies if this is old news, but I tried searching this and nothing came up...
LHR frequency is to be increased to daily from 30th Oct, possibly (?) at the expense of one of the ICN-SYD flights (dropping the Wed flight, although it comes back over Xmas/New Year).
Cutting back on ICN-SYD seems a little strange to me; I've flown the route several times and the plane's always been full. Would've thought there was ample capacity on the route (especially as Korean students all fly home in late November/early December anyway).
Sorry again if this is old. Is my first thread, so am a little nervous *nervous smile*

No need to be nervous and congratulations on your first thread.
I am sure lots of people here know about the changes through the newsletters but I don't think it has been discussed here.
I am actually not surprised about ICN-SYD. While it is full in the back it is empty in the front.

Thank you!

Hmm, that surprises me, given that QF codeshares SYD-ICN with OZ (isn't it a little strange for a OW airline to code-share with a *A one?), which must help them out in filling the front end. I flew Business once (and several times economy) to ICN from SYD, and I find the hardware on the route a little old-fashioned (lack of AVOD mainly). Is there a lack of demand in Business for the route given that KE fly daily and all the other Asian airlines fly to ICN from SYD through their hubs (SQ, CX, JL, CA etc)?
I'm flying LAX-ICN-SYD just before Christmas and then SYD-ICN, ICN-LAX after New Year. I was due to fly on a Wednesday, so am glad they're restoring daily services for that holiday period. I'll also have enough miles to upgrade to Diamond once I get back. Woot!

I don't think it's that strange - plus, it's not like they have that much choice. If they don't codeshare with a Star Alliance carrier, it will be a Skyteam carrier instead.

Hopefully Asiana will do a little better on the route once the long-awaited cabin upgrades, particularly in C class, are completed.

Unless there were any changes, it is a 'hard' code-share - QF has its allotment (including specific seat numbers) on this flight and pays OZ regardless if they manage to sell any seats or not. Good source of guaranteed revenue for QZ:)

And the reality is that QF works very well with a lot of *A carriers. And this goes both ways. LH will send their customers on QF rather than SQ for example and QF and SA also code share well.
A much better relationship than QF/CX for example.
