Sweet Willie Sep 16, 11, 7:21 am nice find, thanks. skchin Sep 16, 11, 8:00 am Good deal. Time to hit Todai and Lee's Madarin before winter. rustyr Sep 16, 11, 8:45 am My booking info for this rate had a description that said rate was for active military, but nothing in there saying requiring proof of that and the rate description doesn't say that as you can see(states any military/public officers either active or retired). So I hope there is no suprises upon check-in. Or I suppose I could just call them about it. The actual offer code is HERO. izzik Sep 16, 11, 10:10 am Where does it say 'active military'? I just see "Salute to Heroes". rustyr Sep 16, 11, 10:19 am It was listed in the booking I made. Another FT'er PM'd me that he made a booking for tonite and will report back how it went. al613 Sep 16, 11, 10:47 am Great rate! Seems only valid on some weekends however. Just canceled a reservation for tomorrow night .. with 13 min left to spare! izzik Sep 23, 11, 2:49 pm Yeah I PM'd GP concierge and they said "no" since it is not a publicly available rate. That's weird because you'd think it was valid given how Hyatt defines "Eligible Rates". chungkyu82 Sep 24, 11, 8:40 pm Well, the guy that booked and stayed called CS and they stated it would not get points. Thats what they told me also so I guess cheap rate but no points.:( What about stay credit? Would the stay count for 5K for 3 night promotion? rustyr Sep 26, 11, 8:04 am No points accrual or stay credit because as antonius66 found out, not a "publicly available rate". Don't understand- if you can find it on their website why it isn't eligible. It's not worded very clear in that case. TennisPro Sep 26, 11, 8:31 pm Bummer on the points and stay credit, but still a good rate. ejs621 Sep 26, 11, 8:37 pm Reserved on the "Hero" promo for last Saturday night. No problem checking in, but got a hassle on checkout, was told the "Hero" rate is for active military only and was charged 117.50 on a 59.50 reservation. I didn't argue at that point. I better earn a stay and points for the eventual rate I was charged. izzik Sep 26, 11, 9:21 pm If you stay at least 3 nights, there's a sale rate that is as low as 69.30/nt+tax for this property. antonius66 Sep 27, 11, 1:03 pm Reserved on the "Hero" promo for last Saturday night. Well, per the site it is for active and prior military, fire and police. ejs621 Sep 27, 11, 3:00 pm Well, per the site it is for active and prior military, fire and police. That is correct. However, here is what it says on the reservation confirmation: ROOM(S) BOOKED: 1 KING BED ROOM DESCRIPTION: 1 King:Newly renovated:37in flat screen:Ihome oversize desk NIGHTLY RATE PER ROOM: September 24 - 59.50 US DOLLARS RATE INFORMATION: Reduce rate This rate is available for military active TYPE OF RATE: SALUTE TO HEROES CANCELLATION POLICY: CANCEL BY 3PM CST 24 HOURS PRIOR TO ARRIVAL Changes to the dates of stay, number of guests per room or number of rooms confirmed will be subject to current pricing which may be different than previously confirmed rates. That was the basis for the rate adjustment at checkout. linuxchick Sep 28, 11, 10:57 pm Used this rate twice in August with no issues. Found it on the Woodfield Hyatt website and the T&C's say nothing that would exclude any member of the public. After emailing my folios to CS, I was granted stay credit and GP points on one stay and SWA miles on another. Also Diamond amenity and breakfast vouchers (better than average Hyatt buffet). If you can't make the buffet - either leaving too early or sleep too late - then your buffet voucher is good for $15 worth of items at the coffee cart during your stay which is a nice option. Note: Also, during August I made a priceline bid blind reservation and got Hyatt Woodfield for $55 + tax. This Hero rate was $49.50. Priceline investigated, concluded this was a public rate and gave me the price difference plus $25. This hotel did not give diamond amenity or breakfast for a priceline blind bid stay. --I am reading it as they are saluting those who have served by offering a reduced rate in honor of them. T&C's say nothing that this rate is specifically for Military. I believe you should get stay credits/points as well. I was simply reporting what I was told by GP Concierge on here. izzik Sep 30, 11, 6:27 pm Frankly, it doesn't matter how the customer interprets the wording. It still comes down to whatever Hyatt Goldpassport decides. YMMV. rustyr Oct 1, 11, 7:17 pm Used this rate twice in August with no issues. Well I was thinking of cancelling my rez for the Fri nite during the Oct seminars, but now I might chance it for 50$ and stay credit/progress towards the 5k PTs(whoopee:rolleyes:) but if I do cancel it just leaves me more for "adult beverages" during the evenings of the seminars.. What a dilema!:p srodr Oct 2, 11, 9:56 am Reserved on the "Hero" promo for last Saturday night. If any hotel ever tried to raise my rate on checkout that they allowed at checkin I would never allow it. Especially on a rate like this that actually says nothing about 'active military' in the terms. izzik Oct 2, 11, 9:05 pm nm..........
