Interesting. Now here's a question for Wyndham Rewards: There is overlap between this promo and the Summer one. Do stays that occur between 9/15 and 9/30 count for both promos?

There is a slightly different promo for all European Members: Stay twice with us this autumn

To qualify for “Stay twice and earn a £20 or €30 gift card*” promotion, the member must:

(i) reside in Europe; (ii) enroll in Wyndham Rewards program and register for the promotion using a valid email address at any one of the following websites: wyndhamrewards.com/freegift or wyndhamrewards.de/freegift OR if enrolled on property during the Promotion Period, member will automatically be registered in the promotion and (ii) book and complete – check in by 18 November - at least two (2) separate and non-consecutive night qualifying stays at any hotel(s) participating in this promotion at qualifying rates between 15 September, 2011 and 18 November, 2011 (the “Promotion Period”); and (iii) complete their qualifying stays by 22 November, 2011.

Members who qualify for this promotion will receive a bonus 8,800 Wyndham Rewards points (in addition to the points earned on the qualifying stays), which is enough to qualify for a gift card* redeemable at various participating retail outlets or against other Wyndham Rewards benefits as shown on the Wyndham Rewards website (*Members may choose to receive a gift card in GBP(£) or EUR(€) except for bookings and qualifying stays made on wyndhamrewards.de/freegift or in Germany where only EUR(€) gift cards will be available). Availability of rooms varies from hotel to hotel and exclusions apply. Members who check-out after 22 November, 2011 will not receive any promotion bonus points. Members may also claim other Wyndham Rewards benefits such as free room upgrades and early check-in/late check-out (both subject to availability) and complimentary snack or drink on arrival during their qualifying stays. Members earning miles will receive 8,800 bonus points on their account in addition to miles earned on the qualifying stays. Rates offered by most on-line travel agencies and certain other rates such as wholesale, group, packaged and employee rates do not qualify for this promotion. Please check before booking. All consecutive nights at the same hotel regardless of check-ins or check-outs count as one stay. Members are entitled to a maximum of three (3) gift cards* (i.e. six (6) non-consecutive night qualifying stays) during the Promotion Period. Members should allow six to eight weeks after completion of registration for the promotion and the two (2) minimum qualifying stays for the bonus points to be credited to their account. Hotels participating in this promotion are Ramada®, Days Inn®, Baymont Inn & Suites®, Hawthorn Suites®, Howard Johnson®, Knights Inn®, Travelodge® (U.S. hotels only), and Wingate® by Wyndham branded hotels. Super8 China does not participate in this promotion. Wyndham Hotels and Resorts® properties located in Europe, North America, Latin America, the Caribbean and China also participate in this promotion. Wyndham Hotel Group reserves the right to change these terms and conditions and to withdraw this offer at any time without notice. Wyndham Rewards Guest Rewards Program Terms and Conditions

And I already got a question on this one: Do you get a physical voucher at the hotel after your second stay? Or do you get points credited that you can than switch into gift cards of the mentioned shops in the promotion advertisement? And just another minor remark if the later is the case: The shops that are mentioned in the advertisement of the promo are not even redemption partners yet ...at least not on the German Wyndham rewards site...

I don't wanna sound ungratefull but I really think that Wyndham really needs to work on proper T&C's for their promotions...

Oh, and I do have another question for Wyndham Rewards: Does Super8 participate in this offer? The terms are:

Hotels participating in this promotion are Ramada®, Days Inn®, Baymont Inn & Suites®, Hawthorn Suites®, Howard Johnson®, Knights Inn®, Travelodge® (U.S. hotels only), and Wingate® by Wyndham branded hotels. Super8 China does not participate in this promotion.

Super8 is not listed among the participating brands, which I suspect is an omission. Why say that Super8 in China doesn't participate when all Super8s worldwide don't participate?

In this thread, saying "this offer" is confusing. This thread is discussing two different offers, which are similar but not tha same (several things about them are different). You are obviously referring to the European verison (post #3). The North American version (post #1) clearly lists super8.com as a valid booking site, and makes no mention of brands other than by their booking site or by mentioning that Super8 China does not participate.

Hello, the bonus points will be posted to your account after you qualify. You can redeem the points for the available rewards that are part of the Wyndham Rewards program.
I'll bring the comment regarding the relevance of the shops to the attention of the right folks so they can investigate.

ADDITION: Regarding the 'shops mentioned in the advertisement'...you can redeem points for a Globogift voucher and this entitles members to redeem a gift card for the retailers mentioned in the promotional collateral. Hope that helps.

Hi,
Could you please clarify which summer promotion you're referring to? Thank you!

I have the same question I believe. I'm from the UK and registered for the "previous" Stay 2, Get 15k pts" promo. I also just registered for the new/current "Stay 2, Get a £20 gift cert" promo. I have 2 reservations coming up that I made prior to August 31st. It seems like I should be eligible for both the 15k bonus pts as well as the £20 gift cert. Can you please confirm I will get both of these Wyndham Rewards?

Oh yeah, one more question for Wyndham Rewards: When I registered for the current UK/Euro promo (Stay 2, Get a £20 gift cert), I got a confirmation e-mail stating that I had applied for the USA $20 Visa gift card version of the promo. Is this a glitch? I KNOW I applied for the UK/Euro version of the promo.

I then double checked by being extra careful and then registering my wife for the promo. I made absolutely positive that I applied for the UK/Euro version of this promo, but when I click the active promo link in my WR acct, it leads me to the T&Cs of the USA promo, and my wife was ALSO e-mailed a confirmation that she had applied for the USA version of this promo. I obviously would much prefer a £20 gift card (which is actually 8800 WR pts) than a $20 gift card. Please help, how do I fix this.

FWIW, my WR acct address is in the UK, and I applied via the UK link. So I shouldn't have run into any problem applying for this. Is this just an IT glitch?

Hello, I'm looking into this - it does sound like a glitch.

UPDATE: The link in the Promotion Tracker has been fixed so that you'll see the landing page associated with the site that you're on. i.e. If you're on the UK site, you'll see the UK version of the landing page. If you registered for the UK offer, there should be no issues.

In terms of the email version you received, can you double check what language of preference you have set in your member profile? There is English & UK English - if you have it set as just 'English' that may be why you received the incorrect version. If you send me & Wyndham Rewards 2 a private message, we can confirm you're registered for the correct offer. Please reference this note in your note. Thanks!

Hi, Yes, you would be able to get both bonuses.
Thanks for the good news!!! What a great set of promos. Now I'm wishing I had booked a couple more Wyndham stays back in August, but glad I booked at least 2 of them!!!!!

Hello, I'm looking into this - it does sound like a glitch.

Also thanks for looking into this. It looks like this glitch has been fixed as of sometime this morning. Now when I click the Fall promo link in my acct it properly directs back to the Euro/UK version of this promo's T&Cs. Should I be worried at all that my promo registration e-mail confirmation from yesterday says I'm registered for the USA ($20 Visa card) version of this promo? Should I register again to try to get a new e-mail confirmation? Or should I assume the glitch is all fixed and I am properly registered for the Euro/UK version now based on my UK address and based on where the promo link in my acct directs to?

Thanks again for everything Wyndham Rewards, you've been VERY helpful in answering all questions and looking into glitches for us FTers, and I want you to know your help is very much appreciated!!!

I notice also that the promo changes depending on what site you log in to. To be sure I signed up at one of the euro sites.

However as MOY noted, the e-mail confirmations show the US 20$version.

I take it this doesnt matter and is just a glitch?

MOY, did you get new e mail confirmations? Or has your bonus posted regardless?

Does anyone have any experience in how long it takes the NA double bonus points to post in relationship to the stay and/or initial posting for the stay?
At the same time or nearly so. I had a Super 8 stay in the US where I checked out this Thursday morning. Two days later, on Saturday morning I had both the regular 600 WN RR 2.0 points and the "double" 600 WN RR 2.0 points show up in my account.

And if it shows up instantly for airline miles (although they're called points, WN points are an airline currency), I would expect the same timing would work for WR hotel points.

Furthermore, right below the Recent Activity (on the My Account page on the WR website), it shows a Promotion Tracker, where for me it says:

Fall 2011 Stay 2 Offer Active 1 out of 2 stays reached
(Before the stay posted, it said "Active" but "0 out of 2 stays reached". So this was an online confirmation that I was registered for the promo correctly.)

(At least that how it works on the US site.)

My Double points should on the Wyndham site pretty quickly. They have yet to show at Southwest. The 600 for the original stays posted at both locations. The 600 points/miles for the bonus on the 2, 4 and 6th stays posted with Wyndham, but nothing at Southwest yet.

First, you are confused. You don't get 600 points bonus for 2nd, 4th, and 6th stays, you get it for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd stays.

(It's the $20 that you get with the 2nd, 4th, and 6th stays.)

If you do 6 stays all earning to Southwest, you'll earn 600+600 on stays 1, 2, and 3, but only one 600 per stay on stays 4, 5, and 6. Then you'll earn $20 on stays 2, 4, and 6.

(Yes, it's confusing, but that's how it's structured. If you want both $20 and double miles/points, you have to put with only getting double/miles/points on your first 3 stays, not on your other 3 stays. If you're only interested in double miles/points, you can give up after 3 stays, in which case you'll only get one $20. Or you can "split the difference", and only do 4 stays, only not get double miles on one of those, and get $20 twice.)

So far only my first stay has posted to Southwest, and it showed both at the same time:

10/10/2011 Hotel Wyndham Hotel Group 10/06/2011 +600
10/10/2011 Hotel Wyndham Hotel Group 10/06/2011 +600

My second stay (a few days ago) just posted to WR this morning, and I expect it to show up at Southwest around Monday or at most Tuesday (that's the pattern I've seen).

EDITED TO ADD: Yes, my second stay did show up, also doubled in the same format, Southwest on Monday, as expected. So to me everything is working as expected. I have one more stay that I just completed last night that should earn double, I expect it to post to WR at the end of this week and to Southwest at the start of next. And then I don't expect any more stays during this promo to double my Southwest miles.

My account is UK-based and I registered for the UK variant of the promo. The email I received was for the US-based variant, but as clarified by the Wyndham Rep here, that's because my langugage was set to English and not UK English. I PM'd the Wyndham Rep earlier and was told that they award the points based on your profile address, and so I was told I was fine.

I just saw this post for my first stay:

19/10/11 <some Hawthorn> 500
19/10/11 Online Booking Bonus 500

Isn't the double points a feature of the US variant? Has Wyndham screwed up?

I PM'd the Wyndham Rep but haven't yet received a reply.

My account is registered to my UK address (I am back and forth between the UK and the US). I registered for the promo with the UK offer. I booked two separate stays at two different Ramada properties in the UK directly from the Wyndham website. BOTH properties changed affiliations DURING my respective stays and are no longer affiliated with Wyndham. I checked into a Ramada Hotel and checked out of a Mercure Hotel...TWICE. What are the odds of that happening?

I e-mailed from the Wyndham website and explained my situation. There were a couple of e-mail rounds, including an e-mail that said I should confirm if a property is a Wyndham property before I book (...???? - I booked the hotels on the Wyndham website). Finally, I was given some points (even though my earning preference is and has been AA miles) for my stays "as a goodwill gesture" but nothing for the promotion. :(

When I called the US 1-800 number, I was told that I was S.O.L. for the promotion and also S.O.L. for having miles instead of points. Basically, it was "Sorry SUCKER!!" :td::td:

I fulfilled the terms of the promotion, yet not only am I missing the bonus, I am missing my miles (but have a handful of points that are worthless to me.)

Suggestions on how to escalate this with Wyndham?

The problem is that goodwill points (as opposed to actual points for a stay) cannot be converted to miles. You'd have to find someone who'd be willing to remove your goodwill points and manually offer you goodwill miles, even WR even can do such a thing (and I don't know that it can).

However, what you should know is that unless you're collecting Southwest or looking for US Grand Slam hits (which you aren't, since you mentioned your earning preference is set to AA), you actually get more miles by collecting WR points and then redeeming at 8000 WR points to 3200 miles (in a variety of airlines, including AA). That transfer ratio is way better than the 5-to-1 (direct) earning difference between earning WR points and airline miles directly.

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wyndham-rewards/1257307-wyndham-rewards-points-miles.html

In that thread, it basically says that the simple way of looking at it is if you earn miles (including AA) directly on stays, you get 2 miles per dollar, but if you earn points and then transfer, you get 4 miles per dollar. So why would you want to earn miles instead of points on a stay?

Points posted for my latest stay but not the double points. Does it take a bit before I see the double points come in. I know I registered, even did it twice to be sure and got the "You have already registered for this" When should I expect the double portion to post.

Could we ask lurkers to help El Paso with training to clean up this mess.

This is rather critical for many, myself included.

I hope you see that such failures are very negative to the brand.

Thanks^

i actually finally got a reply today-saying that it was a no show so no miles and then another mail saying that was an error and they would post them but it would be another 2 weeks!!!!!!!!!!! this will be far too late to do the points transfer...
its so frustrating-i cant understand what they are doing as they have an opportunity to make a lot of money...

Hotels don't have a clue about Grand Slam promotions, and for that matter neither do most people at Wyndham Rewards. And without that knowledge, they don't understand that points or miles posted late don't do you much good (since for most everyone else, it doesn't matter how late they post).

This is a limitation of Grand Slam (that they take the posting date, rather than the stay date) that you should have been aware of, and thus you should have done the stay very early in Grand Slam if you wanted to be absoutely sure that it all got taken care of in time.

(And believe it or not, even on FT Grand Slammers are a minority, so in the world at large, they are a tiny minority!)

Regardless of whether it was 1, 3 and 5 stay or 2, 4 and 6th stay. My bonus 600 points posted to the Wyndham site, but never posted at the Southwest site. I have received e-mails for 2 of the $20 certificates, but not the last one. I was on a road trip and hit my six stays in the first 10 days of this promotion.

Has anyone been able to redeem the visa gift cards? They were supposed to send me emails with links to redeem the gifts online in 60 days of completing the promotions but I never received any communication from them. I completed three and that even showed on my Wyndham Rewards account as "completed". So, I called them. On the first time they told me that it was a flaw on their end and no one received the visa cards yet. She assured me that I would receive instructions on emails in a week to redeem my rewards...nothing happened. So I called again after two more weeks and this time they wanted to confirm my email with her to send me the links. I faithfully did. Again, nothing happened. Finally, I contacted their customer service online and they sent me an email stating that they would get back to me in 3-5 business days...it has been more than 7 business days and I am still waiting.

I never had to go through this kind of hassles when it was Triprewards.

I would really appreciate any response from someone who has redeemed this promotion visa card / cards.

Regards

Received this from a rep today:

"Hello XXXXX,

Thank you for contacting us about your Wyndham Rewards(r) account.

I have forwarded your information to another department for research.

Thank you in advance for your patience while your account is being
reviewed and updated.

Please be advised, adjustments will be made eight weeks after the
promotional end date of 11/18/2011.
"

This email was received a couple of days ago. Not to complain but I never remember having to wait until after a promotion ended before receiving points. In the past I always would get credit within 4-8 weeks after a qualified stay.

Seems like a bummer to have to wait a possible 16 weeks for points when I've kept my agreement. I typically stay on Wyndham properties 30-40 nights a year.

Any thoughts or am I crazy?

ibrick
Jan 4, 12, 3:51 pm
no your not crazy it is a bit unreasonable.. when I called them I was told my points would post 6-8 weeks after my stay not after the promo ends. However it is almost 12 weeks since my stay and I still am waiting for the bonus points to post..

Two quick questions, one related to the promotion and one a bit more general to the WR experts here:

1. If two nights give 10k bonus points/£20 Gift Card reward, does that mean that one gets both or does it just show what can one get after two stays? Reason I am asking is that I'd prefer 10k points.
If I do get 10k points, can I use them only to get a Reward listed, i.e. £20 Gift Card, or can I exchange them for anything else up to that level, like 3200 miles?

2. If possible to exchange those 10k bonus points for miles, can I request that for someone else [a friend who needs small topup] or only for myself?

If you get points, use them at your liking, also transferring to others FF#s.

Question: For the EU members, does the DoubleMiles offer apply? Meaning, can we get the 8800 points PLUS we get the extra 500 points for first 3 stays? I am asking because a uk relative of mine received the 8800 points but didnt get the 500 bonus posting on their account nor in the Airline they chose...so I know people needed to call in or PM but was wondering if they even qualified to begin with as a EU based member...
(The question seemed to be brought here, but no clear answer..)

Thanks for the promt reply! However, I wasnt refering to the CURRENT "gift me" promo, I was refering to the automatic "double" miles that was going on nov 2011. (it was listed in the NA email for the $20 gift card that you ALSO get 500 bonus points per booking..). Does this alpply to EU residents/version?
