So there are 5 possible credit card hits. I had the US Airways MasterCard and have since done all of the paperwork for the debit card.
Business MasterCard (http://www.usairwaysbiz.com/app/japply/lp/27150.jsp?product.IowaEnable=false&legacy=true)
Personal Visa (http://www.bankofamerica.com/creditcards/index.cfm?template=cc_usair.cfm%2526headerType=usa )
I cannot even find a way to apply for the Visa. When you click apply now you are taken to a paged filled with the Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, etc cards but no US Air Visa option. I can't find the business card anywhere either. I'd like to get at least 4/5 hits. Does anyone have more information?
I also saw this thread because I didn't see anything dedicated to these points.

The BofA Visas are no longer open to new customers. Some of the original holders were not transferred to Barclays for some reason, so those are the only ones that can get the Visa hits.

Do BofA Debit card holders get a hit?
Yes - if you have a US Airways BofA debit card (not Alaska Airlines our a non branded BofA debit card). While getting one may be closed to new customers, if you are a current BofA customer you can swap out your current debit card for a US Airways card. I swithched a week or so ago.

I'm not sure, but I'd assume you need to charge at least $2 in order to earn 1 mile. As with all other hits except for mags for miles, you have to earn miles to get a hit.

I already have an eBanking checking account with BofA and I would like to exchange my current (non-branded) debit card for a US Airways debit card. I am willing to pay the $30 yearly fee but I was wondering if there are any other fees I would have to pay just because my old debit card is not about to expire.
Maybe somebody was in a similar situation and can share his/her experience?

I have a BofA checking account and no debit card. I ordered the debit card and the fee is $30 annually. I received the debit card today, went to Whole Foods, and asked the cashier to put $2 on the debit card (so I earn ONE US mile and get a hit) and the rest on my US Mastercard to earn more miles (one-to-one ratio). ^
IMPORTANT: Make sure you use the debit card as a VISA to assure you get the miles. Not sure if you get miles if you use it as a debit card.

I also got all 3 cards. The business card took a call to the reconsideration desk but the rep was very nice and worked with me to approve the card. Other 2 were approved instantly.
My plan is to keep the regular Mastercard when the annual fee becomes due for next year's grand slam. The 40,000 miles upon first use were a great deal this year. The 10,000 miles upon renewal are worth the $89 annual fee.
The business card did not have a first year annual fee waiver but it was worth $79 for the bonus 25,000 miles. I plan to downgrade to the NO FEE business card before the annual fee comes due. This way I can get a hit next year for free.

Yeah, that is a good plan. I wish I could get at least the Visa personal too, but you can't have it all. I'm happy to pay the annual fee on the Business MasterCard for the 25,000 miles and I plan to do a balance transfer of $10,000 to as the fee is capped at $75 on that card, which is well worth it for 10,000 more miles.
When it is all said and done I should be at over 300,000 DM miles, life is good!

I just got my debit card in today, and there is nothing on it to reflect that it is a US Air debit card. I told the guy at my branch least 3 times that I wanted the US Air debit card, confirmed the $30 charge and, at the end of the transaction, confirmed again "I have the US Air debit card, right?"
Needless to say, I went ballistic when this card arrived today, but the B of A rep on the phone said that, according to her records, it IS a US Air debit card. She claims some do not have anything on them to reflec6t the US Air affiliation. I seriously doubt this.
Does anyone else have a US Air debit card that has NOTHING on it to reflect that it is a US Air card?
I'm convinced that B of A screwed up (shocker!), but it seems that I have no choice but to wait until I see if these miles post. Since they post monthly, I'm going to be pushing it to get a charge/hit in time.
If the idiot in my local branch cost me a "hit," I am going to be pissed!

Just got back from the bank (it's literally 2 blocks away). Banker told me that the one I received today was a generic debit card generated upon account opening, but that my branded US Air debit card should be arriving in the mail shortly (was sent 9/19). He showed me their account info screen which definitely shows me as having the US Air debit card.
I don't think the right hand has any idea what the left hand is doing at B of A, and will believe it when I get the correct debit card in the mail. For now, I'm holding off on the nominal charge that I expect to use to get my hit.
I have a bad feeling that my saga on this is just beginning.....

I'm pretty sure that everyone who got a card that doesn't say US Airways on the top is the WRONG CARD.
I had the old debit card before, and it was standard BOA colors, and I used it all the time. They told me I NEEDED to get the new card, and that the old card was invalid. I'd go to the local BOA branch and get it fixed - they tend to screw things up.

For those who got denied US Airways Business Credit card, my experience might help. I got my personal US Airways credit card approved about a month ago. Tried applying online for the business card last Friday but the system said that I would receive the decision in the mail. On Saturday I called in to check the status and was told that my application was denied. On Monday, called the credit department to enquire for the reason and was told that I just got approved for the personal credit card a month ago and hence the system automatically declined my business card application. She looked at my personal credit score and said that I qualified for the business card as well and manually overide the system to get me approved.
I applied for the one with $79 annual fee which comes with 25K welcome bonus miles. There is also a no fee business US Airways credit card with 5,000 bonus miles. So you can go for that as well if you don't want to pay but in my opinion it's worth it for the extra miles. Hope this helps some who want to get an extra hit at free or minimal charge.

Same here.
I opened an e-banking account with the minimum of $25. Use the card, close the account, right? I go to a branch to deposite $7 cash to bring the account up to cover the $30 card fee. The teller tells me I have to use an ATM or I get charged a fee. So I go outside the branch to find that their ATM is broken. I go back inside, wait in line, and another teller says I should go to the grocery store across the street. To there I go--but that ATM does not accept deposits. Back to the branch and I am greeted by the branch manager. I explain my trouble and my desire to deposite $7 cash. Instead of helping me with my problem, the branch manager takes me to her office, and proceeds to call the BofA branch 7 miles down the road to see if "their ATM is working so you can make that deposit."
Really?
I think we can all agree that BofA is doomed.

But from what I can gather here, the welcome bonus miles are posted the beginning of each month and not right after you made your first $2 minimum purchase? For BofA US Airways debit card, T&C shows that "You will receive 3,000 Dividend miles after you use the card for the first point of sale". But from what I can gather here, the welcome bonus miles are posted the beginning of each month and not right after you made your first $2 minimum purchase? So they are posted the same time you receive your monthly miles from debit card purchases?
That's the way it worked for me when I got my card.

I am doing Grand Slam for both myself and my 16 year old daughter. I was going to get her her first checking account/debit card but the minimum age is 18 so I had pretty much written off her getting any of these credit/debit card hits.
Then...
I booked a USAir ticket for her recently, paid for with MY USAir Mastercard. This line item showed up on HER DM statement:
Anyone think that this might generate a hit somehow?
Can someone confirm that this counts as a hit?

Called US last night and my suspicions were correct, BoA opened a new US account for my debit deposits. I got the 3,0XX miles moved without issue but no activity line, BoA or otherwise, was generated on my surviving account. Hopefully November's sweep posts correctly without intervention or I am going to have to fight for the hit.

I had that same problem last year, the miles reflected in my balance but no activity showed. The hit did count fine.

Finally got my debit card and activated it -- I'll be using it sometime during the next couple of days when I find myself with a cheap transaction (> $2)
I had to call and it ended up taking 16 days to send it, so if you requested online and there's no sign of it, CALL. Also, MAKE SURE you tell them that you already have a DM number and that you provide it -- my agent was about to open up a new DM account for me before I asked, "do you need my DM number?"

My BOA US Airways Debit card arrived yesterday after waiting for about 2 weeks but surprisingly the card's envelope was not sealed. Luckily the card was still inside the envelope. What a gross negligence. Immediately called my phone company automated system and paid $2 towards my bill. Another easy hit. Free in my book with the 3,000 welcome bonus miles if you value them at 1 cent each.

If you recently opened a new US debit or credit card account, and have yet to see miles post, read this!!!
I read somewhere here on FT recently that sometimes BofA and Barclays opens a NEW DM account for you when you get a new card -- even if you include your already-existing DM account when you apply for the new card.
So I called the US DM service center and -- yup -- that's exactly what happened to me. Luckily for me, the agent I spoke with had had the same thing happen to HIM when he got a new BofA debit card!!! So he knew exactly what to look for.
If you received a new card in the last month and made a purchase and have yet to receive the miles, call the DM service center and ask them to look up your name and see if another account was created for you. If so, they will merge the new account with your existing account.

I have (had) a US Barclays credit card that carried a $79 annual fee. I charged a couple of tickets on it last month, but it was after the September cut off, and so those charges are still pending. When the September bill with only the annual fee came I called to see if they would remove or lessen the annual fee. They refused, so I cancelled the card.
I should be getting the bill for the airline tickets any day, and was going to pay it in full pretty much as soon as it arrives. Will I still get a hit? I charged the tickets after 9/14.

That's weird. My other account had both the one mile for the purchase and the 3000 bonus miles. I would call to inquire.
Do the 40k bonus miles for the mastercard post with your first statement or as soon as you earn them? I haven't gotten a statement yet and was wondering if I should check into this dual DM account issue now or wait and see....

They post with the first statement. The MC is issued by Barclay's, not BofA, which is whom the debit card issue is with.

I wrote back stating I am NOT inquiring about the U.S. Mastercard but the U.S. Airways DEBIT CARD.

Sorry for the dumb question here, but as we're nearing the 30 day mark until the promo ends, is it too late to apply for credit or debit cards?
I just got my shiny new debit card in the mail (and BofA will never see my business after the local branch's attitude), but I have friends and family who have not yet applied.
Can they apply (for credit or debit card) tomorrow (Friday the 14th), wait the week or so for the card to arrive, use it, and get everything to credit in such a way as to qualify as a hit?
Thanks in advance for any advice!

Not sure if anyone else confirmed or not, but it should not count as a hit - it's a booking bonus for using your US Airways Mastercard to book air travel (valid on travel booked by 14 November and flown by 30 November).

Really?
I've got a better one.
I already have a BoA checking account I opened in 2007 in IL, when they still didn't have a presence in MI. That changed only after they bought LasSalle sometime in 2008. Anyway my account is a bit loopy and maintained in IL with an address in MI. Long story what that does to your account when you show up at a MI branch.
Anyway, in late September I was in NH and found time to go to a BoA branch, thinking that I could sort out applying for the US DM debit card faster when speaking to a real person and not apply online waiting for feedback. The 'private banking manager' took out her shiny reference guide with all the pretty debit and credit cards you can open when you have a BoA checking account. Guess what: US DM is not listed  I was looked at as if I'm some idiot. My offer to go online and show them was put off with a smile. Not wanting to demean myself any further I left the branch and applied online.

That means a "hit" via the Barclays Mastercard may take as many as 60 days from the date of purchase to show up on my Dividend Miles statement!

All purchases made in a calendar month are posted early in the following calendar month with an activity date of the first of the new month. So, the last day to do a transaction would be October 31, which would post in early November with an activity date of November 1 - although it would be better to play it safe and do the transaction a few business days prior to October 31.

Called US through the number tommyleo posted and asked to link the accounts -- took a couple minutes to line up the accounts. I asked about the posting for BofA and if they would fall within the Grand Slam period and they said they should now that they are properly linked. Just to stay safe, I'm going to call BofA again (once I can handle their level of idiocy) and ask to change the DM account number the card posts to to my original.

Does the purchase have to be made by November 14th, or do the miles need to be credited (via a closed statement) by then? Many FT'ers speaking of 40K sign-up offer, but best I can find on US site is 15K @signup +15K for $750 spend, then 1:1 up to 10K (less BT fees) for balance transfers.. And no deferred annual fee.. Just doesn't add up to a good value, considering the costs, unless you really need that tier hit to move you from 3 spots to 4. Is there a better offer than this, or am I missing the value equation here?

You need to have the statement close/miles post by the 14th. I just got the card myself, and from a secure message I sent them, it seems like Barclays may be able to change your statement closing date. My assigned statement closing date was 30 days from the date of card approval, so if you can't change your statement date, it would be too late to get GS credit.

You got further than I did on the initial call, BoA claimed to have no idea what US DM number was linked with my account. I called US and also had a 7 number, the account was combined and my old account grew by 3,0XX. There is no activity line for it, just the incrase in balance. The good news is last week's GS report card has 1 more hit than what is posted on my account so the sweep is somehow picking it up.

More credit card fun.
Applied for the Barclays M/C on 10/1, instant approval. A few days later when I logged into my US DM account I saw a nice gold DMS badge next to my name - sweet. Checked an award flight, saw the -5000 miles benefit when I priced it out. Sweet again.
Card arrived 10/11, activated it and made a purchase.
Now when I go into my US DM account I DO NOT see my gold DMS badge, nor the -5000 miles benefit.
Called US, they say I won't receive the DMS benefit (or status) until they receive miles from the Mastercard. They don't see any Mastercard on my account.
Called Barclays, very nice c/s agent was puzzled, and eventually got a supervisor from US on the line since everything looked fine from the Barclays end. US supervisor reiterated that I would only see DMS status after a closed statement, and showed that I had paid my Mastercard bill. Said they were having troubles with fraud, people opening accounts and never using their Mastecards but receiving DMS benefits. She had no idea why I would have seen the DMS status on my account earlier.
I've sent a SM to Barclays to get my closing date moved up, and paid my $5.69 balance. Not ready to call this a "hit" yet.

Would like to know if anyone have tried to enter their US airways # on BOA website successfully?
I have applied for a BOA EBanking account and got everything set up yesterday. However, when I tried to edit my account options which included changing the regular plain BOA debit card into the US Airways Debit Card, it would not let me entered the full 11 numeric digits US Airways #. It seems to only accept up to 9 digits. Is this design for the OLD US Airways # with a mixture of letters and numbers?

Today I called to let Barclay know that I haven't received their US Airways "Business" credit card as of yet. The rep mistakenly cancelled my existing "personal" US Airways credit card that I have already received instead eventhough I stressed it two times that I needed my business credit card resent. So be very careful when speaking with their reps. Not the smartest people around.

Here's a dumb question: do I have to actually own a business to apply for the "Business" MasterCard? I just opened up the application form, but it's asking me for all sorts of information about my business name, address, number of employees, etc.
I've been looking through this thread and the main US Airways forum, but I haven't found anything that really addresses that question. Feel free to point me in the right direction if I've just missed it.

I'm 99% certain the answer to that is no, you don't have to own a business. But I've not personally applied so can't state with certainty.
I think most people just enter their home address, number of employees = 1, and any other information as appropriate. If there's a field for employer ID or tax ID or something similar (maybe "EIN" or "TIN" - can you tell it's been a while since I dealt with my small business tax information), enter your SSN.
Of course, it should go without saying, but you don't want to knowingly enter false information.
Someone will no doubt respond within a few hours to confirm or refute this. Also, if you haven't check over on the MilesBuzz thread for answers to this question.
Good luck!

Today I called to let Barclay know that I haven't received their US Airways "Business" credit card as of yet. The rep mistakenly cancelled my existing "personal" US Airways credit card that I have already received instead eventhough I stressed it two times that I needed my business credit card resent. Finally got the risk management department to resend both the cards by Fedex.
So be very careful when speaking with their reps. Not the smartest people around.
You should have kept the personal card and received 2 bonuses.

Thanks vysean & keirnna for the quick feedback!
Pardon my ignorance, but what's a line exchange?
Also, what'd you do for "Legal Business Name?" Just leave it blank? How about "Business Type," "Position in Business," and "Years in Business?" Just Other, Other, and 0, or something different? (Proprietorship, Owner, and 0?)
Thanks again!

Not ready to call this a "hit" yet.
so I have my closing date on 10/15 and these 2 lines showed up before I paid for it and I checked my US account and I do have the gold DMS icon and 5000 miles discount in my account

I am keeping my personal card but it was mistakenly cancelled by Barclay's rep when I asked them to resend my Business credit card. Just received my new Personal card today but still waiting for the business card. Called today to f/u and was told that they will have a tracking number for me tomorrow. Hopefully I receive it in the next few days.

Which is the best way to confirm that BoA assigned your DM # to the card?
The person that I spoke with when I opened my account told me that my FF # will be on card. I had a Marriott Visa Credit Card that had my Marriott Reward # on it so I thought her answer to my question was reasonable.
When the cards (we opened multiple accounts...one for each family member) arrived, there were no FF# on them. Briefly reading some of the posts in this thread, I am guessing that our FF #s were not used, etc.

Not sure if that info is accurate. I have the BofA credit card (not the debit card) which is definitely linked to my DM account and it doesn't have my US # on it. I think that I was told incorrectly that our respective debit cards will have our respective DM # on them.
My question is what is the best way to find out what DM # (our existing DM # or new DM # were created) is assigned to our cards. Call BoA? Visit a BoA branch? Call US? I went to a branch yesterday and they couldn't tell me. I called BoA and they couldn't tell me. I went online to the BoA online banking and nothing is notated in our accounts.

US Airways can look it up and see if BofA assigned you a different account number. If so, they will merge your accounts and from all reports, you would still get the hit even though it won't necessarily show up as a transaction in your account.
I'm also just waiting for my first statement to close to see if the miles show up automatically. For my BofA credit card, they usually show up a day or two after the statement closes so if no miles by then, I'll be giving DM a call at that point.

I just applied for the business credit card a couple of days ago. I wish I'd realized sooner that there was a no fee option, but oh, well. My plan is as follows:
1) Activate the card as soon as it arrives (hopefully within the next week).
2) Buy something cheap with it the next day.
3) Call Barclays to see if I can get the statement closing date moved up to the end of the month.
I'm *hoping* that'll work.

For me, it was more a question of if I'd be able to spend another $25k in a year to get the 10k PQM transfer. I figured I could always upgrade/reapply for the other one later if I decided I wanted it?

Yeah, I'm not disagreeing that it's an inexpensive way to get 25k miles, but at this point I've got so many miles that I've got no plans to use anytime soon, so the $79 is worth more to me in the bank than in miles.

You are actually paying $79 for 20K DM miles not 25K since 5K is given with the no annual fee US Airways Business credit card. Whether 20K is worth $79 that depends on your personal situation. For me, it's worth it because I can use a Star Alliance flight (eg Air Canada flying to Northern BC) which can run upto $900. Ofcourse, you could argue that you could apply for a free United or Continental card and get first year waived anyway. But for me I might just apply for both the cards and get more miles as I need them anyway.

By the way my US Airways Business credit card just arrived today via Fedex. Took many phone calls to follow up as it was supposed to be sent 3 days ago after it did not arrive by snail mail 2 weeks ago.
Anyway, my statement cycle date is tomorrow meaning by midnight today any transaction not posted will go into next cycle which means I will not get a hit. I already made a transaction for a phone bill but usually they take upto 2 days to post so might not make it for this cycle. Anyone know of any merchant posting the credit cards charge the same day as the transaction date? It could be a super market or an online merchant, any suggestion?
Changing statement cycle date may or may not work as they generally require 1-2 cycles to change and jeopardizing the hit so want to know if there is any merchant that is quick at posting credit card charge the same day?

So there are 5 possible credit card hits. I had the US Airways MasterCard and have since done all of the paperwork for the debit card.
Business MasterCard (http://www.usairwaysbiz.com/app/japply/lp/27150.jsp?product.IowaEnable=false&legacy=true)
Personal Visa (http://www.bankofamerica.com/creditcards/index.cfm?template=cc_usair.cfm%2526headerType=usa )
I cannot even find a way to apply for the Visa. When you click apply now you are taken to a paged filled with the Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, etc cards but no US Air Visa option. I can't find the business card anywhere either. I'd like to get at least 4/5 hits. Does anyone have more information?

May I ask how long did it take from sign-up to receipt of the debit card? I've received all kinds of e-mails about my new account, but no card in the mail yet. Signed up on Sunday so its been less than a week, however. Using it as a back-up rather than buying expensive flowers. I applied 9/26, took until 10/11 to get the correct card. My first app was routed to CA for some reason (I'm in NJ), so that was a delay, and then the first card I received was a generic non-US Airways version. They are really clueless.

+1. As I have already mentioned twice in this thread, the debit card miles post with an activity date of the first of the month, and post all transactions for the previous month. THE STATEMENT DATE IS IRRELEVANT.
I would think Monday would be the last day for the debit card transactions, but would do it today (in case of a delay in the settlement of the transaction).

It sounds like from what people are saying that if your billing cycle closes before Nov 14 - say, Nov 8, like in aarif1's example above - and if you purchase items before the cycle closes, then you will get a hit (even though it probably won't actually show up on your US DM account until after Nov 14)? According to what she said, and using aarif's example dates above, if one were to call today having received their new card and request a change of statement date to the 8th, this would take effect from December - not November, and therefore the first statement would still miss the cut-off date for the Grand Slam.
I think that both I and aarif should each call Barclays again to check this and then cross-reference what we were told back in this thread....
I just received my BusinessCard today, and after activating it I called to find out what my statement date was. The person on the phone said it was -- wait for it -- November 15th. I asked if I could move it up, and she said she could move it to the 3rd of the month, but that it wouldn't take effect until the next cycle after Nov 15th. It sounds like we got different information? (Or did you call about the personal card?)
If I can't move it up, it'll be back to the drawing board for hit #36. :-/

This is what I was told when I called. I was calling about the personal credit card. I have since been approved for a business card too (this happened a few days after the personal one) so it looks like I have zero chance of getting a hit with that one.
Maybe you should make a second call to Barclays too and see what you are told by a different agent?

I got both the personal and business CC a couple of weeks ago, and immediately made a charge to both. I can't yet see a statement close date for the business card when I look online, and the personal card has a statement close date of November 17 (ugh). Called about the personal card and was told that changing the close date won't take effect until December.
I wonder if there's any room to argue this issue with US Airways if these end up not counting as hits. After all, it should be fairly obvious that there's a lag in posting, and I did use the cards before November 14. Not too eager to find another two hits.
After all, the rules do say: "Earn 1 hit for every credit or debit card use per card type. You can earn this bonus once for each unique card partner: US Airways MasterCard, US Airways Business Card, US Airways Visa, US Airways Visa Business Card and US Airways debit card."

Just a quick "thank you" to the earlier posts (WAAAAAY back!) about B of A screwing up the debit card and opening a new US Air account -- that is exactly what happened to me, as well.
After a few calls -- and horrendously long hold times! -- I think I finally got it straightened out.
I am praying that my debit card transactions from last week appear on the correct account now, as I am counting on that hit, and it is my understanding that the transfer/merger of the incorrect account with my US Air account may not qualify for it.

I called regarding my personal card. However, it is completely possible that the CSR that I talked to was mistaken, and my statements won't post on the 8th until December (despite the fact that I specifically told him I was trying to get my miles to post before the 14th). I guess I'll have to wait and see.

i guess i can call back after the 8th to see if it has created a statement and then decide if i need to do something else.

here is a link for the debit card......also a 3K mile bonus after 1st use....not much but will make the $30 annual fee hurt a little less.....
When I noticed my new debit card bonus and spend hadn't posted, I called up Bank of America to ascertain whether they had my proper DM number. Despite my having entered the number on my application, it seems that someone there simply automatically applied for a new DM number. Luckily I was able to get the new number, call up the famous Linda at DM (the Queen of the GS) who was happy to combine the accounts so I would not lose anything. As it turned out, the miles hadn't posted yet, but should soon. Better to check than to be unpleasantly surprised by a foul ball.

For the past week anxiously awaiting the arrival of my US Air debit card. Called Saturday to ask where it might be--he confirmed it was linked with US Air and had been sent 4 days prior. Today the card arrives--a red BofA debit card, no US Air dark blue! Per the very helpful posts by Keirna & Nabeel, I was going to rush out today, Oct. 31, and buy things in hope that transactions would post in time for GS.
Called US Air, no record of any link with BofA. Next call, 15 minutes for BofA CSR trying to figure out just what is a US Air BofA debit card. I ask to speak with a supervisor, who promptly input my DM number and told me a new card would be issued and sent out quickly.
I was just about ready to chalk this one up to no GS hit, but then remembered to ask when is the closing date on my statement? November 8. Hmm, maybe there's time to salvage this afterall? Supervisor assured me I would have my new card well before Nov. 8.
Well, I look at the bright side--3K US miles even if I don't get a GS hit. May keep it now that US Bank just stopped their Travel Perks Reward debit card. I loved the US Bank card--in about 3 years I amassed over 70K points, which is more than enough for two $600 airline tickets. Much easier to redeem than FF miles, too.

I was wondering if anyone has a similar problem and was able to succesfully resolve it.
I made two charges in the beginning of October, and they still did not post. According to Bank of America it is supposed to happen within three days after a statement day. My statement day was October 18, which makes the miles long overdue. At this time I am fighting what seems to be a loosing with B of A trying to claim what belongs to me. They keep promising a resolution but refuse to make a committment to a specific date. When I asked if they have any way to issue a manual adjustment to correct the mistake (and they recognized it as such), they said that there is no procedure for that.
Any word of wisdom?
Thank you

Credit card miles post 3 days after the statement date, debit card miles are batched and post in the first week of the calendar month. You should see something this week if BoA has your account mapped to the correct US DM account. If this is your first month with the US debit card and there are no miles by Friday I would call US and see if BoA opened a second DM account in your name.

Thank you. It is indeed my first month with their debit card. Hopefully it will happen as you described. I spoke to three (!) different service reps and none of them had any clue. Very hard to see a point of even having an 800-number on the back of the card.

1. First call BoA and ask for the DM account associated with your card.
2. If it is your DM number, just wait and the miles will post.
3. If it is a different number, write it down.
4. Now call the REGULAR USAIR number and say you need to speak with DM Service Center, since this is a complex question.
5. You will have to wait a long time, but eventually, you will speak to someone there and give both numbers and an explanation.
6. The person you speak to (it does NOT have to be Linda) will straighten things out immediately.

You can also skip the first three steps and just call the US DM service center and have them check your name to see if there is a duplicate DM account. That's what I did when my debit-card miles hadn't posted.

Hopefully there will be another GS next year and they will straighten it up by then, but I am just scrambling to not to miss this year hit. Not to mention that this was the first usage of the card which entitles me to 3K bonus. So, there is enough reasons to worry about this year GS.

I believe US simply merges the DM two accounts so that all future miles earned through BofA get credited to your original DM account. However, it certainly can't hurt to have BofA fix it on their end -- assuming you can get the right agent to do so!

Any debit card miles posting yet?
In previous months, it has posted on the 4th or 5th of the month. Wait until Saturday.
I'm pretty worried about mine, only because I made a $2.38 purchase on 10/11 and it posted on 10/13, but my statement closed on 10/12 (a day earlier than it has in the last 12 months!).
However, I did get charged the $30 fee on 11/01/11, so hopefully I'll get the bonus miles from that posted? I dunno. I hate BofA, I requested the card on 9/15 and didn't get it until 10/11, and used it ASAP.
The only redeeming factor is that I'll know if I hit a foul ball (more like the pitcher balked but the ump didn't catch it) by the end of this weekend and can scurry for an insurance hit.

Thanks!

As long as the purchase posted within the month of October, you will see it hit with an activity date of the first business day in November, and it should post on the 5th of the month (maybe 4th or 7th this month, since the 5th falls on a weekend).

I called the main Customer Service number again today. (I'd originally tried to do some research to see if I could find a more useful department -- my experience with customer service organizations is that you can pretty much always accomplish what you want, you just need to get the right person on the phone, and that's generally never the first tier of people answering calls -- but I wasn't having much luck.) The lady I spoke with said that my billing date was the 3rd (from when I changed it last week), and at least she said that my bill would be generated tonight. This is contrary to what I was told last week, and I'm not 100% convinced that whatever screen she was looking at actually said Nov 3, 2011, even though I had her confirm that twice. So, I think I'll wait until tonight, see what happens, and then go from there.
Has anyone else had any luck with this or gotten someone more useful on the phone?
Thanks!

I've seen this in this thread many times, but here's why I'm still nervous (from the GS faq, emphasis mine):
How do I earn hits with my credit or debit card?
You earn one hit for one spend with each US Airways credit or debit card partner during the promotional period (after you register and between September 14 - November 14, 2011). The miles can come from first use or your daily spending. Remember that credit and debit card miles post based on your statement closing date, not on the date you sign-up for a new card or use your card.

So confused about the credit card - NOT the debit card - after reading this forum. My statement will close next week. Is this soon enough to get a hit if I make my first charge next week before the statement closes?
Seems as though there are conflicting things on this thread, perhaps because people have gotten different answers from the Barclays CS people. So, if anyone has actually gotten a hit (perhaps from last month - you got the card last October, charged something in early October, and your first statement closed in early October?), that would be awesome to know. I'm getting nervous about this one and wondering if I need to start booking yet another hotel :)

I think in your situation, you're okay since you have a week to go (enough time to make a purchase + enough time before the GS ends).
I got my card pretty early (9/19), registered it for dining miles, and made a $2 charge at a local fast food restaurant. I think it was on my Barclay's statement within a couple of days. I'd suggest using the card ASAP so that it shows up on your statement next week, even just a $1 charge.
*changing topics to Debit Card* -- I just realized my debit card has 11/1 as the date of the $30 charge, so if the GS returns next year, looks like I will make a charge in September, wait for it to post in October, then revert back to free debit card. $30 for 3000 miles and 2 hits = pretty good!

I cancelled the account because I read that an existing account can not earn a debit card sign-up bonus more than once. I figure if I need it, I'll open an account next year as soon as GS12 is announced.

I mentioned this earlier in this thread, but had the same issue last year. BofA created a new DM account for me. US merged that account into my primary DM account. The previously posted debit card miles were added to my balance, but did not show in the activity history (although they did count as a hit). Future debit card miles posted fine, without calling BofA (and counted this year as a hit).
What seems to have happened to you is they merged the accounts, but marked the new one as primary. If your debit card activity shows, but all other doesn't, it would seem I am right.

Well, I'll be. I just logged on to check my account, and low and behold, it says:
Last Statement Date 11/03/2011
Below it, it shows the miles earned and sent to US Airways.
I guess the CSR I spoke with today did know what she was talking about?

Given all of the trouble others have had, and the total lack of professionalism from the local bank branch, I'm absolutely (and pleasantly) shocked that the BofA debit card successfully credited for myself and two friends who chose it as a hit. I was concerned about having enough time since I only applied on the 9th of October and they a week later. Somehow it all worked, and without any follow-up actions on our part.
I still think BofA is a terrible company, but I'll take my $30/3000 mile credit and hit.

Statment closing date was 10/14:
11/1/2011 11/03/11 US AIRWAYS DEBIT CARD EVERYDAY PURCHASES 10
11/1/2011 11/03/11 US AIRWAYS DEBIT CARD FIRST USE BONUS 1,000
11/1/2011 11/03/11 US DEBIT CARD ADDITIONAL FIRST USE BONUS 2,000
This was hit #36. NetSol is the only one that hasn't posted and now I don't need it to. That will be hit #37, my safety hit.

Just called about my new US MC. Statement closing date is 11/15, one day too late. Can't change it before Dec.
Looks like I need to get something ordered.

You may be pleasantly surprised (no first-hand experience with Barclays, but I was pleasantly surprised by Citi when trying to get a statement date changed to get the bonus miles in for AA LT miles, even though I was told it wouldn't take effect this month).

I agree. Ask them to change it to the 7th, or whatever the next available date in their list is. It worked for me -- much to my surprise -- so it might work for you as well. It certainly won't hurt to try.

For the personal card, I had mine changed to the sixth (originally scheduled for Nov. 15 -- ugh). Online it says that the next statement closes on 12/6, but when I called last night, I was told it closes on 11/6. I'm hoping for the best.
For the business card, the statement date thankfully closed on Nov. 3, even though I got that card after the personal card.

My new Barclay's CC hit today ^
11/4/2011 11/04/11 US WORLD CARD: EVERYDAY PURCHASES 6
11/4/2011 11/04/11 US WORLD CARD: FIRST USE BONUS 40,000
Activated card 10/11, made purchase same day. SM'd Barclays to move the closing date as early as they could (3rd day of the month).
That cements my 36 hits. Dare I go for 40?

No point, unless you're a US FFer on the verge of a threshold (25k/50k/75k/100k).

I decided to go for the 40 for exactly that reason -- I'm approaching 100k, and I'd spend about the same amount of $$$ getting the last 4 hits as I would going on a mileage run for an extra 5k PQMs, but I could get the hits in far less time from the comfort of my living room.

I hate how poorly the debit card is run by BoA. It is possibly the worst run program on earth. No idea when your miles post, no information on your statement, just magically the miles show up at the end of the month.

I agree that the program is poorly run (like opening a new DM account instead of linking to an existing one)
But with regard to the bolded part, I think that our work with the thread has nailed down a pattern that can be used for the future. If anything, posts from last year stated exactly what happened this year; the only question this year was with "statement dates," but we know that for the Debit Card, those are irrelevant. Just make a purchase in October and it will post on Nov. 1.

It appears to me CSRs are often confused about the due date vs statement cycle date. They often misunderstand that your statement date won't take effect until after the next month when they should have said that the due date couldn't be changed for the month you call but for the next. My 2 cents anyway.:) So it's important to stress that your want your statement closing date to be changed to before November 14th.

I'm looking for an experienced FlyerTalker to help me out here.
I just got a Premier World card. I was counting on this as a hit but by the comments in this thread won't be? My online account says my next statement will close on 12/6/2011.
The rules are too vague for my liking:
Earn 1 hit for every credit or debit card use per card type. You can earn this bonus once for each unique card partner: US Airways MasterCard, US Airways Business Card, US Airways Visa, US Airways Visa Business Card and US Airways debit card.
So my 40k bonus miles for using the card for the first time won't post til my statement closes either? I'm going to try calling them tomorrow to see if I can have them move the statement date. Has anyone had luck with moving statement date with this card? Thanks in advance!

Great news -- statement just closed. So the online info indicating that the next close date would be 12/6 was wrong. And the rep who originally changed the close date to the sixth and who told me that it wouldn't take effect until December was also wrong.

I would charge something ASAP and see if the statement closes today. If that doesn't work, I would call ASAP and move it to any date between now and the 14th. They may tell you that it won't take effect until December, but based on my experience, they may well be wrong. See my experience above. You've got nothing to lose, right?

I have two different US Mastercards issued by Barclays, a no-fee World Mastercard and the Premier World card. I know that either of them counts as a hit (World card usage counted last year; Premier World activity was a hit this year), but suspect that I can't get a hit for both.
What's interesting, to me at least, is that they post slightly differently:
Premier World card:
9/24/2011 09/24/11 US WORLD CARD: EVERYDAY PURCHASES 1
World card:
11/5/2011 11/07/11 US MASTERCARD: EVERYDAY PURCHASES 1

there are 5 cards in total, right? are they two separate one in the list?
well. you can see if this counts or not from the upcoming emails about how many hits you have.
did your statement close on Nov 5?

There are 5 listed in the rules, but these two are not listed separately. Given some of the goofs by US in processing hits, I can nevertheless imagine that they might both count.
Emails from US? Make me laugh. This is my 3rd GS & I've never once gotten a scorecard email, despite being signed up for promo email in my account preferences.
