First time post in Hotel Deals thread so pre apologizing if this isn't the right forum/ a good deal.

Seems to be an alright deal. The reviews seem to be mixed, but an all inclusive at 11/night is still a great deal imo!

Have you been able to book this? While the linked page states $11/night/pp in September/October, I've tried a few bookings and the lowest rate appears to be $97/night.

I have stayed t this place for the mentioned rate and I enjoyed it for what it was.
food = ok
VIP beach +++
drinks = good.

If you want to eat in one of the theme restaurants you must get a reservation by 2 or 3 PM the day before.

They do try to upsell you to VIP status,mostly by seeing people wisked away from the regular hotel rooms to the ultra lux VIP suites; by preference given to VIPs at the specialty restaurants, by the lavish Sunday VIP reception, etc.

But its a soft sell.

If you want some inexpensive fun in the sun and don't mind rail drinks, this is a great deal.:)

If I wanted to stay a month, is it possible to do several 5 night bookings?

no they watch it pretty closely now because last year people were spending long periods for low rates I expect that now they would probably make you break it up by not staying a day or so.

I booked this when the rate was $18 per person. We arrive on Spirit Air at 3a.m. Saturday morning Dec. 3 at the Santiago (STI) airport which is about 35 miles from the resort. We are thinking about booking a Van service to the resort and I am wondering if anyone else plans to be on the Spirit Air flight from Ft. Lauderdale to Santiago arriving at 3 a.m. that Saturday morning. Splitting the Van cost will save everyone money.:)

That's what I was thinking, spending a month with a friend would be around $900; however still being away for two days per week would work.

At the other end of the spectrum, you could fly American F to La Ramona and have a three-bedroom Villa at Casa De Campo.:p

or go for something in between, DL coach award and stay at the RIU complex in Puerto Plata for $50-$70 a night they have 3 hotels that share everything but dinner...decent quality, nice beach, good price...love the mamajuanna juice. Brugal is the local top shelf rum.

I've seen the OP hotel run specials like this in the past, glad to hear it is not too bad.
